Annual Wellness Examinations: These are important, because like in people animals should be seen by a doctor at least once a year. Often we discover things that you may not have noticed. Also, it is a great time to ask questions about your animals health.
Senior (geriatric) Medicine: Any animal over the age of 8 years is considered a "Senior" or "Mature Adult" pet. Just like in us, older pets are changing in many ways, the "He is just old now" is not a good excuse anymore for our older pets because we now know that many of these type of syptoms are treatable providing for a better and LONGER quality of life.
Vaccinations: We follow the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) vaccination guidelines, and the local city, county and state laws for Rabies Vaccinations. We believe in only vaccinating pets at risk for the disease.
Nutrition: Good health starts with good nutrition, we offer nutrition couseling and we supply pet food for various stages of life, as well as prescription diets specially designed to maintain animals with specific health concerns.
Radiology (xray): We have digital radiology. This enables us to get the radiographs quicker and with less stress to your pet.
Ultrasound/Sonography: We offer ultrasound to check liver, kidney and other organs as needed.
Laboratory services: We have a variety of onsite testing capabilities to provide results while you wait. Advanced laboratory equipment we offer are complete blood counts (CBC) and blood chemistries (kidney/liver function). Our general procedures include spays and neuters, growth removals, declaws, foreign body removal, abdominal exploratory, biopsy, thyroid removal and other soft tissue surgeries. To ensure our animals are safe under anesthesia, patients are monitored throughout surgery by routneily checking blood pressure, heart rate, Blood Oxygen Saturation Levels, CO2 levels, and EKG.
Microchips: Microchipping is a safe and effective method to ensure that beloved pets can be returned to families. It is your pets only way of THEM FINDING YOU!
Hospitalization: Unfortunately some illnesses require hospitalization. When this is neccessary we may keep them here overnight and/or over the weekend. We do have doctors and staff that come and check up and treat the animals on the weekend, but there is no continual care for overnights or weekends. If your pets condition is severe enough we may recomend that you transfer your pet to the Animal Emergency Clinic.
Dentistry: Bacteria from the mouth can pass through the blood stream to the heart, liver, and kidneys causing significant disease. We offer dental radiographs, cleaning, dental extractions and minor oral surgery. Dental radiographs allow us to see under the gum line to deal with disease before it becomes a major issue. Our staff is trained to discuss preventative dental care techniques and assist you in making decisions for a dental prevenatitve routine that works for you.
