About our Doctor - Robert Schechter, DVM, Ph.D. has studied and practiced Veterinary Medicine for over 33 years. He obtained his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin in 1960. He then served as an officer in the United States Navy until 1962. He went to Veterinary School at the University of Illinois and graduated in 1967. He volunteered in the Peace Corps until 1968. He received his Ph.D. at Cornell University in Reproductive Physiology in 1972 and was a Professor at Cal Poly Pomona, CA until 1976. After practicing in southern California he moved to Atascadero, CA where he had his veterinary hospital since l989. Atascadero Pet Center's emphasis is a practical approach to veterinary medicine. We recommend routine check-ups, heartworm testing, altering your pets, and annual vaccinations to cut down on deadly diseases.
