ABOUT US Nestled cozily off route 301 just south of route 50, Highway Veterinary Hospital has been owned and operated by Dr. James Peterson since 1981. Dr. Peterson?s highly trained professional staff has been carefully selected and is continually educated in new techniques and opportunities in the veterinarian field. In addition, those chosen to work at the Highway Veterinary Hospital understand that pets are an integral part of our lives. Whether your pet is visiting us for preventative care or for a more serious condition, our Health Care Team will provide your pet with support and care, as well as offering you the knowledge of how best to help your companion. Our practice proudly provides services for the Anne Arundel County SPCA, the Regional Chapter of Guiding Eyes for the Blind, the Prince George's County K9 Collapse Team Search and Rescue Unit, the Prince George's County Police K9 Unit, the Prince George's County Department of Corrections K9 Unit, the Maryland National-Capital Park and Planning K9 Unit and select working dogs from the Maryland State Police and local Amtrak Police. In addition, Highway Veterinary Hospital hosts the Eastern Veterinary Blood Bank (EVBB) for a canine blood drive every 7 weeks.
