Dr. Sara Organist, VMD
Cheif of Staff
After graduating from Penn State University, Dr. Sara Organist earned her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004. She has worked in the Philadelphia area since then and has a background in emergency and critical care medicine. Dr. Organist joined our team at the Animals' Hospital in 2011 and looks forward to bonding with our clients and their four-legged friends. She has a special interest in client education, surgery, behavior, and internal medicine.
Dr. Andrea Leof, VMD
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Andrea Leof received her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania. After graduation she first began working with the Women's SPCA in Philadelphia. Dr. Leof was the first associate to join Dr. Kearse at The Animals' Hospital in May of 1994. She continues to work for the hospital four days a week seeing patients. Dr. Leof especially likes meeting new "toodlets" puppies and kittens and watching them grow into adults. In addition to pediatrics, Dr. Leof also has a special interest in feline medicine. She has the ability to teach and educate both the staff and our clients on a daily basis and the hospital would not be the same without her.
Dr. Steven Buttil, VMD
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Steven Buttil received his undergraduate degree from Penn State. He then continued his education at the University of Penn receiving his VMD in 1977. Dr. Buttil joined The Animals' Hospital team in 1998 and continues to work as a part-time veterinarian for the hospital. Dr. Butill works both in surgery and in the exam rooms with our patients four days a week. He has a special interest for internal medicine cases and continues to strengthen the human animal bond with his patients. He is always able to keep our team up-to-date with sports and new cooking tips, which is well appreciated by the entire staff.
Dr. Sarah McIsaac Kearse, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. McIsaac-Kearse began her career with The Animals' Hospital in 1997 volunteering until 1998 as a kennel assistant. Her passion and eagerness to learn soon landed her a position as a technician. Dr. McIsaac-Kearse continue her love for veterinary medicine first completing her undergraduate at Penn State and her DVM from Kansas State. You will often find Dr. McIsaac-Kearse still sporting her Kansas City color "purple" while now working full-time since 2008 as a veterinarian for The Animals' Hospital. She has a special interest in parasites and zoonotic diseases and is a major part of our Animals' Hospital family.
Dr. Valerie Heartsfield, VMD
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Valerie Heartsfield received her VMD from The University of Pennsylvania. She began working with The Animals' Hospital in July of 2006. She continues to work with us part time as well as with several other area hospitals. Although, we do not see Dr. Heartsfield often we appreciate the medicine and knowledge that she brings to our clients and patients.
Victoria Brown
Hospital Administrator
Victoria joined our team in December of 2011. Victoria has extensive experience in Veterinary Management and is also a trained Veterinary Technician. Her flexible background gives her a uniquely professional viewpoint and makes her a fantastic leader for our hospital. She works tirelessly hand in hand with our Cheif of Staff Dr. Organist to ensure that every day in our hospital runs smoothly. When Victoria isn't managing her team, she enjoys playing with her kitten Henrietta. She loves all of our clients and cannot wait to meet your pets!
Dawn Curran
Technician Team Leader
Dawn has been employed at The Animals' Hospital since May of 2006. She combines her skills as a Veterinary Technician with her love of teaching in her position as our Technician Team Leader. Dawn works hard to make sure that her team consistently meets and exceeds our patient's needs. When Dawn is not coaching her team, she can usually be found assisting our surgeons. Dawn loves the unique challenges of being a surgery technician and enjoys helping all of our patients achieve their healthiest lives possible! Away from work, Dawn enjoys spending time with her two Miniature Schnauzers Winston and Rebel.
Sarah Lawrence
Receptionist Team Leader/Client Care Coordinator
Sarah began working with The Animals' Hospital team in August of 2005. She has a passion for excellent customer service and she uses that passion to make sure that every visit to our hospital is a great one starting at the Front Desk! Sarah's calm, compassionate nature and eye for detail makes her a perfect fit as our Client Care Coordinator. Sarah is always excited to hear comments and suggestions about your visit to make sure that every visit to our hospital is a positive and fulfilling one. She looks forward to speaking with you soon! When she is not at work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her adorable granddaughter Shianne.
Chris Piorun
Inventory Coordinator/Veterinary Technician
Chris began her career at The Animals' Hospital in July of 2004. In addition to being a senior veterinary technician, Chris is also in charge of making sure that all of the medications, supplements, and tools that we use are stocked on a daily basis. When she is not learning about the newest medications available, Chris enjoys the challenge of being a surgery technician. Working alongside our surgeons, Chris makes sure that every procedure is performed safely and effectively. When she is not working, Chris enjoys spending time with her husband Todd and their English Springer Spaniels Billy & Johny.
Jennifer Harrison
OSHA Officer/Veterinary Technician
Jen joined our team in April of 2008. Jen loves her position as our OSHA Safety Officer, and makes sure that each year our team is trained for natural disasters, fire, and flooding - guess which one we've had to prepare for the most? When she's not busy keeping our heads above water, Jen is a senior veterinary technician at the Hospital. Jen's attention to small details makes her excellent both as our safety officer and as a technician. Her love of all animals makes her an integral part of our team! When not at work, Jen love to enjoy the great outdoors.
Lisa Mundy
Veterinary Technician
Lisa joined our team in February of 2007 and we've been greatful to have her ever since! Lisa enjoys working with all of our patients, but has a special place in her heart for sick or injured kittens. Lisa has fostered more kittens than any other staff member and never fails to fall for the neediest babies. In addition to being our go-to for kitten care, Lisa enjoys organizing and maintaining our puppy and kitten packets for our new pet parents. Her eye for detail and compassionate nature make her an invaluable part of our team.
Katie Long
Veterinary Technician
Katie works as a veterinary technician at the hospital. She began her employment with the hospital in April of 2006. Katie recently graduated from school earning her degree in ultrasound technology. Katie's high energy is a great staff motivator that keeps us moving. She is always quick with a smile and is fantastic at client education. Katie is an invaluable member of the Animals' Hospital team.
Anitha Joe
Veterinary Technician
Anitha is currently working to become a veterinarian. She is a technician at our hospital where her kind heart and compassion shows through in everything that she does. Softspoken and caring, Anitha has a way of putting the fussiest animals at ease. Anitha has been with the hospital since December of 2007. Anitha is a part time employee and we appreciate every minute that she is here!
Tammy Gill
Veterinary Technician
Tammy was one of Dr. Kearse's first employees when he founded the hospital. She started her career with the hospital as a registered veterinary technician in 1991. Tammy continues to help improve the hospital with her insight and wisdom in the field. She has a special affinity for kittens and bulldogs and brings her love of animals to everything that she does. Although she is part time, Tammy is an integral part of our team!
Katie Dykes
Veterinary Technician
Katie works for the hospital as a veterinary technician. Katie has been with the hospital since June of 2001. She only works a few hours on Saturday but her love of animals, vast knowledge, and ability to multitask is greatly appreciated by all.
Veronica Heich
Veterinary Technician
Veronica started her journey with the Animals' Hospital as a receptionist and has now moved into a veterinary technician position. Veronica has been a member of the animals' hospital family since April 2007. Her enthusiasm and positive attitude makes her an invaluable part of our team. Always quick with a laugh and a smile, Veronica is able to put clients and their pets at ease.
Ashley Dively
Veterinary Technician
Ashley joined the hospital as a receptionist in August of 2008. Ashley is currently attending school to become a registered veterinary technician. She has been able to combine her knowledge from school with her position at the hospital to further educate our clients about their pet's needs. When she is not working, Ashley enjoys spending time with her son. Ashley's gentle nature makes her a valuable asset to our team.
Debbie McGlinchy
Receptionist
You will find Debbie greeting you as you enter the hospital almost every morning. Debbie works as a receptionist and has been with the hospital since June of 2006. Debbie has the unique ability to find all of the small details that most would over look and the ability to memorize clients and chart numbers with ease. Her vast memory makes her a friend to everyone and she is sure to remember you and your pet!
Carol Clarke
Receptionist
Carol has worked with Dr. Kearse from almost the beginning starting her career with the hospital in 1995. Carol has a keen sense and has been able to work in both the receptionist and technician areas within the hospital. Her vast knowledge and experience has been used to guide others in the right direction.
Dawn Reichard
Receptionist
Dawn has been with the hospital since September of 2005. She will always do her best to ensure that every client and patient that come into the hospital leaves happy. She may steal your puppy or kitten for thousands of hugs and kisses; but her love for animals makes her that much better at what she does.
Lauren Harkins
Receptionist
Lauren began her career as a kennel assistant while attending high school. After graduation she moved into the role of receptionist. Lauren is still attending classes to get her business degree and wants to continue to work in the veterinary industry. Lauren's ability to quickly learn new tasks has been remarkable and she has been a fantastic teacher for our newer employees. Lauren's ability to remember all of our clients and their pets makes her a favorite here at the hospital!
Sandy Elson
Receptionist
Sandy has been a receptionist for the hospital since July of 2004. Sandy will greet you with a smile every time you call the hospital. Her sincere ability to connect with our clients makes her a much needed part of our team. Her calm and gentle nature allows her to handle every situation that comes her way and her warm smile quickly puts everyone who meets her at ease.
Lauren Sorensen
Receptionist/Food Coordinator/Marketing Coordinator
Lauren joined the Animals' Hospital team in April of 2011. Lauren has a passionate love of animals that stretches back to her childhood when her first in-theatre movie was "The Lion King". Lauren enjoys getting to know all of our clients and their pets. Lauren is currently in Nursing School working towards her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. In her spare time she likes to horseback ride, read, sing, and go camping.
