Amy Worell, D.V.M., ABVP-Avian
Veterinarian, Medical Director
Graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BS in Zoology, then received her veterinary degree from Auburn University in 1982.In 1993,she became a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Avian medicine, a specialty board for avian veterinarians. Dr. Worell intermittently gives lectures to other veterinarinas (last year she lectured in Pisa, Italy!)and aviculturists. She has written many articles that have appeared in avian medical textbooks, and magazines. Some of these papers involve Dr. Worell's research and findings with the fascinating toucans. She edits a veterinary column in the American Federation of Aviculture Watchbird Magazine and regularly updates her website with new articles and pet tips. Dr. Worell, in addition to being an avid animal lover and fan, spends much of her free time on the tennis court, in the gym, on the computer, and in the kitchen cooking gourmet meals.
Yoko Tamura, D.V.M.
Veterinarian
Graduated from Cornell University with an Animal Science degree and received her veterinary degree from Colorado State University. Dr. Tamura has a special interest in avian medicine and is pursuing certification in Avian medicine with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. Dr. Tamura is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians.
