Emery Santerre, Jr., DVM
Co-Owner and Veterinarian
Dr. Santerre graduated from Michigan State University in 1969 with a degree in veterinary medicine and has owned the practice since 1972. In the past, he has bred and raised Siamese and Persian cats. He currently owns two dogs.

Ginette Beaudoin, DVM
Co-Owner and Veterinarian
Dr. Beaudoin graduated from Purdue University in 1983 and has been at AMA since graduating. She enjoys X-Country skiing and hiking and currently owns two cats, which were adopted from the shelter.

Priscilla Cutler
Lead Receptionist
Pris has been with the practice for 28 years. She oversees the reception area and keeps the practice running smoothly. Pris is married and has one daughter, three grandsons and a step-grandaughter. At home she has 2 dogs and a cat. Outside the practice, she enjoys blackpowder shooting competitions.

Karen Nowicki
Receptionist
Karen has been with AMA for almost 10 years. She is "V.P. in charge of non-surgical operations", (2nd Senior Receptionist). Karen teaches dog obedience classes and is the resident trainer. She has twin daughters and is married to a Portland firefighter. She shares her home with her 2 dogs and 3 birds - "Reca", a German Shepard and "Alex", a Miniature Schnauzer, "Moofle", a black masked lovebird and "Wings" and "Chris", both parakeets.

Gretchen Black
Receptionist
Gretchen has been with AMA since 1995. She works mostly in reception, but also has the responsibility of doing a large part of the pre-surgical labwork for the practice. She currently owns 1 dog, "G.T.", a 12 year old terrier mix and 2 cats, "Two Socks" and "Sir Brody Wallace". She adopted "Brody" about 1 1/2 years ago when he was abandoned at AMA.

Phyllis Woodworth, LVT
Head Technician/Licensed Veterinary Technician
Phyllis has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician for 7 years. She graduated from the University of Maine at Orono. She has a small farm with her husband, Bryan. They have 3 horses, 7 cats, 2 dogs and a parrot. She enjoys horseback riding, gardening, hiking and drag racing cars.

Karyn Jones
Animal Health Care Assistant
Karen has been a support staff member for 7 years. She enjoys working in all areas of the practice. She also enjoys aiding clients in finding solutions for problems they may have with their pets. She is coordinator od our MSDS file, a listing of all the chemical items used in the practice. Karyn is married and has one daughter. She has 5 dogs and enjoys training them in conformation, agility and french ring sport.

Sandra Perreaualt
Receptionist/Animal Care Assistant
Sandi has been with AMA for two years. She serves a dual roll as an animal health care assistant and a receptionist. She has a 13 year old daughter. Sandi is an avid cat lover and all 6 of her cats were rescued from unfortunate circumstances.

Anne Derosiers
Animal Care Assistant
Anne joined AMA as an animal health assistant in June 1999. She is a 1999 graduate of University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science: Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She has one dog, one cat and a ferret. Her favorite aspects of the practice are assisting in surgery, workning in reception and taking care of animals in the kennel.

Mary Kay Santerre
Bookkeeper
Bookkeeper and "gopher" since 1972. Over the years, her many titles have included kennel cleaner, dog groomer and hospital assistant. Presently, her favorite title is "head chef" for employee birthday cakes.

Petra Schoenbrod
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Petra is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who was glad to return to Maine and join AMA in March 2000. "Tristan" is her faithful dog and "Josie" and "Earl" are her naughty, but sweet ferrets. She enjoys backpacking, in-line skating, mountain biking and most of all, riding dressage.

Kathryn Erswell, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Erswell obtained a B.S. in Business Administration from University of Southern Maine and then worked in advertising for 8 years in Washington D.C. During this time she was involved with the U.S. Army Reserves and reached the rank of Captain. She then attended veterinary school at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2002. In addition to cats and dogs, she has a particular interest in ferrets, reptiles, rabbit, rodent and bird species.
