Dr. William J. Schumacher
Veterinarian / Practice Owner
Dr. Schumacher is a 1973 veterinary graduate of Texas A&M University where he also completed his undergraduate degree and was a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. After graduation, Dr. Schumacher worked three years in practices in Roswell and Albuquerque before deciding to start his practice in Las Cruces in 1976. Dr. Schumacher is married to wife, Kay, and has two daughters born and raised in Las Cruces, Kyle and Jo. Among the home menagerie are 3 horses, 2 goats, 4 dogs, and 3 cotton-field cats!
Dr. J. Kyle Schumacher
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Kyle (to distinguish her from her dad, Dr. Schumacher) graduated from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine in May 2005. Dr. Kyle has a special interest in surgery and equine medicine. In her spare time she enjoys training her Border Collies for agility competition.
Dr.Lauren Short
Associate Veterinarian
Dr.Short graduated from Oklahoma State College of Vet Med in 2010. She enjoys both large and small animal medicine & has a special interest in surgery. Dr.Short also enjoys the occasional exotic patient & has practiced on everything from gerbils to elephants. In her spare time Dr.Short enjoys skeet shooting, shopping for shoes & hanging out with her 4 dogs.

Dr.Koch graduated from Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Med in 2010. Dr.Koch spent a year at an equine referal center & has a special interest in lameness and surgery.In her spare time Dr.Koch enjoys working out,riding her horse and flying with her Husband Lance.

Chris, a long time Las Crucean, often provide you, the customer, with the first image of our practice. She is cheerful, caring and courteous in taking care of our customers and skillfully manage a 4-Doctor hectic schedule-ALL THE WHILE STAYING VERY CALM, COOL, AND COLLECTED!
Viola has joined our team recently.She is bilingual & eager to learn the buisness and to help serve our spanish speaking clients. She always has a smile on her face .

These three individuals have worked in the practice for a combined 30 +years and often know what a doctor needs before the doctor does!! They are very knowledgeable employees in the areas of radiology, laboratory diagnostic testing, and the use of diagnostic veterinary medical equipment. Our thanks many times over to their dedication and service.
Besides the routine cleaning, cleaning, & more cleaning, these three people work under the direction of the doctors to perform X-rays and diagnostic laboratory tests in addition to assisting the doctors with advanced services such as Ultrasonography, EKG's, and Endoscopic Examinations.
