Dr. Janet L. Fisher
Veterinarian/Founder
Dr. Janet L. Fisher founder and owner of the Beechnut/Hwy 6 Animal Clinic, graduated from Texas A&M in 1977. Actively practicing veterinary medicine for 30 years, Dr Fisher practiced in the Plano area for 2 years followed by 2 years of emergency medicine, and then started the Alief-Clodine Animal Clinic. She moved the clinic, which became the Beechnut / Hwy 6 Animal Clinic. After 25 years of solo practice Dr. Fisher decided to join ABC Animal Bird Clinic not far from Beechnut/Hwy 6.

Dr. Fisher belongs to the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA), American VMA and Harris County VMA. She has also been active as a board member of the Harris County VMA and the HCVM Foundation. In addition Dr. Fisher was very active in showing, breeding and training Dobermans for over 10 years. She bred several champions and was very active in local kennel clubs as well as the Doberman Pinscher Club of America.

Dr. Fisher attends over 50 hours of continued education each year in order to stay current on pet healthcare. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but finds it most rewarding to help a very ill pet recover.

In her spare time, Dr. Fisher loves to dance with her husband, David Cortner, garden, and play with her pets. She and her husband share their house with 3 cats and a Sun Conure.
