Hello, my name is Peggy Burt-Martinez, DVM. I Graduated from Kansas State University in 1985. Ive been practicing for 14 years the first 7 years as a relief veterinarian and the last 7 with Belmont Veterinary Center. I work exclusively with small companion animals (i.e. dogs, cats, and pocket pets - hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, rats, mice etc.). My special interests are Human-Animal bond and grief counseling and I emphasis in the following areas: Preventative health care and Internal Medicine. My professional goals are to expand grief counseling education and promotion, become a Board Certified Practitioner and Animal Behavior Consultant.
My professional and personal Philosophy is to strive to do my best within my ability to practice high quality animal care, giving the pet and the family the best available information and services to keep the pet healthy and the family confident in my care. I am married and have 4 children: ages 14-6 years old. I enjoy reading, camping, fishing, hiking, sports (with the kids) and all the family time together that is possible.
I choose Belmont Veterinary Center because of the high standard of quality animal health care that has been established and continues with 4 Associate Veterinarians. A Multi-person practice allows for expanded experience and immediate consultation availability. I feel the Belmont Veterinary Center is on the cutting edge of Veterinary Medicine and I want to be there too.
