Dr. Wayne M. Johnson
Veterinarian, VMD
Dr. Johnson especially enjoys surgery, educating owners and children on how to keep their pets healthy, the fun of puppy and kitten visits, and making elderly patients feel like puppies and kittens again. He has had post graduate training in endoscopy, ultrasound, laser surgery and reptile medicine.
Dr Johnson loves to surf fish and is a member of the Virginia Beach Anglers Association. He also enjoys writing. He recently finished his first Fantasy novel, which he hopes to have published. The Johnson family is looking forward to adding a Golden Retriever to their family in July of 2009.
We've got the most caring and amazingly wonderful staff members here at Birdneck Animal Hospital. I am very lucky to be surrounded by such a fantastic crew. Please feel free to stop by with or without your pet and say hi.

Kelley Mitchell
Veterinary Technician L.V.T.
My name is Kelley Mitchell L.V.T. I began with Birdneck Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant in June of 1999. I graduated from Blue Ridge Community College and received my degree as a licenced veterinary technician in May of 2006. I am a member of the Virginia Association of Licensed Veterinary Technicians. I have also become licensed as a wildlife rehabilitator specializing in mammals. My favorite part of my job is making a difference. When I leave the veterinary hospital and know I have helped make a pet more comfortable, aided in a diagnosis, or even helped to save a life I feel like I have truely done my job.
I currently have two cats: Kilo (a DLH) and Emmie ( a DSH), a rat terrier named Toby, a freshwater fish tank, two red eye tree frogs and a betta named Finnius Maximus the first.
My future plans ore to continue working at Birdneck Animal Hospital. I also hope to gain more experience with wildlife or perhaps the Virginia Zoo.
Kim Johnson
Office Manager / Receptionist
Kim moved to Virginia June of 2008 with Dr. Johnson and their son Adam. She presently splits her time between being a mom and housekeeper and relieving Dr. Johnson of much of the office management details required to run a successful practice. You can also find her performing receptionist duties on occassion. (She's fantastic - like all of my staff. Dr. J)
Lisa Papineau
