Dr. Ahmed Said
Owner
Dr. Said is the hospital's owner and director. He graduated from Cairo University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1970. In addition to belonging to the American Animal Hospital Association, Dr. Said is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, and the Triangle Area Veterinary Medical Society. He has over 30 years of veterinary medical experience.
Sandra Yates
Office Manager
Sandy has recently been promoted to Office Manager. She has been with us for three years and is an integral part of the clinic.
Sandy has two children, Brandon and Dixie. Brandon is 11 years old and attends Durham School of the Arts. He enjoys Play Station, drawing, and reading. He has just learned how to ride his bike!
Dixie loves horses. She wants to be a veterinarian, singer, and horseback rider when she grows up. She is six years old.
Sandy's family also includes two cats, Whiskey and Stripes, and a Black Labrador named Scooter.
Sandy enjoys spending time with her children, watching movies and going to country music concerts. Her favorite performer is Vince Gill.
Johnetta Thomas
Receptionist
Johnetta recently began Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses at Durham Technical College. She stays busy with work, school, and her two-year-old daughter.
Jennifer Hinson
Exam Room Assistant/Receptionist
Jennifer recently joined our team at Academy Veterinary Hospital. She has previous veterinary experience working at the Wake County SPCA in Raleigh. Jennifer's two girls, Rachel, age 7, and Sara, age 2, keep her busy when she's not at work. Jennifer has two cats, Cole and Johnny, and an English Setter named Cody.
