Dr. Robert Culver
Dr. Culver received his degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1983 from Iowa State University. He has been in small animal practice in the Des Moines area since 1987. Dr. Culver opened Heartland Animal Hospital in July of 1995. Dr. Culver is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association (IVMA), and the Greater Des Moines Veterinary Medical Association (GDVMA).
Dr. Culver resides in West Des Moines with his wife Mariann and their daughters Ann and Kate. Also sharing the house are Missy the cat, and their Petite Basset Griffon Vendeen (PBGV) Rauri.

Sarah Prescott
Dr. Prescott received her degree in Veterinary Medicine in May of 2002 from Iowa State University. She joined the Heartland Animal Hospital team shortly after graduation. Dr. Prescott is a member of the AVMA, IVMA, and GDVMA and the Des Moines Golden Retriever Club.
Dr. Prescott lives near Maxwell with her husband Jarad, their Golden Retrievers Piper, Sage and Ruby, and their house cats Fatty, Monkey, Linus, and Dexter. They also have two barn kitties, one horse, and several chickens and turkeys, though they are constantly adding to their “flock.”

Julie
Julie joined the Heartland Animal Hospital team in August of 2001, and then graduated from Des Moines Area Community College in December of 2001 with an Associate’s Degree in Science. She also attended the Veterinary Technology program at DMACC for one year, and is currently enrolled in the American Animal Hospital Association Distance Education Veterinary Technician Program.
Julie lives in Mitchellville with her husband Blake, their cat Igby, and their greyhound Bull, and rescued Shiba Inu Enishi.

Jennifer
Jennifer joined the Heartland Animal Hospital team in January of 2004. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Iowa State University and had earned a certificate in Dog Obedience Training from the Animal Behavior College. In addition to working at Heartland Animal Hospital, Jennifer teaches obedience classes for PetCo and owns her own dog training business.
She resides in Des Moines with her dachshunds Bailey and Quinn and cat Mushroom.

Amy
Amy joined the Heartland Animal Hospital team in April of 2006. She has a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from Grandview College.
Amy resides in Adel with her husband Tim and their two dogs Sierra and Madre and their cats Pah, Una and Bam.

Michelle
Michelle joined the Heartland Animal Hospital team in September of 2006, shortly after relocating to Iowa from New York. She has a Bachelor's degree in English and Political Science and enjoys reading and writing in her spare time.
Michelle lives in Beaverdale with her husband, Mike, Black Lab Big John, and cats Darwin, Natasha, Kos, and Tigger..

April joined the Heartland Animal Hospital team in April 2009. She earned a Bachelor's degree in General Studies from Central College.
April lives in Des Moines with her husband Adam and their two cats Zombo and Ro.
