Elizabeth Preston, VMD
Supervising Veterinarian/ Owner
Dr. Elizabeth Preston, VMD, is the owner and full-time veterinarian, at Hopewell Veterinary Service. She has been with the practice since 1978, became a partner in 1983 and sole owner in 1991. An alumni of Pennyslvania State University, she received her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1978. Trained in both large and small animal care, she made the decision to concentrate on solely small animal care in 2000.

Dr. Preston shares her home with her husband, three dogs and numerous cats. When she has spare time, she enjoys gardening and computers.


Timothy J. Slajchert, DVM, MS
Veterinarian
Dr. Slajchert is an alumni of Rutgers University. He received his veterinary degree from the University of Illinois in 1993. He has been working at Hopewell Veterinary Service since 2005.

Dr. Slajchert spends his free time with his triplets, two dogs, five cats and fish.

Barbara Wagner
Senior Technician
Barbara began her career with the practice in 1989. Her primary duties include bloodwork, surgical preparation, dental procedures, and assisting and monitoring during surgery and recovery. Barb also assists the doctors during office hours and behind the scene in the kennel and laboratory areas. She's our all around handy person.

She shares her home with a husband, two dogs and three cats. Her special interest is in collecting videos, pewter and Labrador Retriever keepsakes.


Tami Dietz
Technician
Tami has been with the practice since 1992. She assists with surgical preparation, dentals and monitoring during surgery. She works in the kennel, laboratory, exam area and front office.

Tami shares her private life with her various dogs and cats.



Vicki Poe
Office Manager
Vicki has been with the practice since 1996. Her duties include overseeing the daily operation including inventory, scheduling, personnel as well as various other duties throughout the office.

When not at work, Vicki shares her life with a husband and two daughters. They live on a farm with a menagerie of animals. She is also active in Junior Achievement, breed clubs and other activities with her children and pets.


Ellen Billingslea
Food Inventory /Purchasing
Ellen started working at Hopewell as a Veterinary Techinician in 1994. She is now a part time Nutritional Consultant.

Ellen lives on a farm with her husband and daughter. They share their lives with various animals including Ellen’s favorite, horses.

Melanie Rehman
Assistant
Melanie joined our staff in 2005 while she was still in high school.  She is now working as a CNA but joins us a day or two a week so she can keep in touch with all the animals she has grown to love and care for.   Melanie is comfortable working in many areas of the office.

Colete Gephart
Receptionist
Colette joined Hopewell in August, 2007. She "mans" the front desk during the day shift on week days.

Since coming on-board, Colette has added an abandoned cat from the office and two Pit Bull puppies to her already full home she shares with her husband, two Labs and a Pit Bull.



Amber Steeley
Technician
While taking classes in college, Amber joined our staff as the Evening Receptionist in August, 2007. It did not take anyone long to realize that Amber's talents were better utilized working in the back with the patients. Since then, she has added working in the kennel, lab, surgery, dental and exam areas to her job skills.

Amber spends her time at home with her husband and two cats. In her free time she enjoys playing golf, darts, mixed martial arts and tattoos.

Brea Shearer
Assistant
Brea joined out team in the fall of 2007. Since coming to Hopewell, Brea's duties have included taking care of the kennel, clean-up, lab work and assisting the doctor during office hours.

Brea lives on an organic farm raising beef and dairy cattle, chickens, sheep and produce. She also finds time to enjoy her pet chinchillas and dogs.

Samantha Yohe
Assistant
"Sam" joined the Hopewell Staff during the fall of 2007. Since coming on-board, she has learned many skills in the kennel, lab and exam room.

We are happy that Sam finds time to work while pursuing her college degree in Biology at York College.


Rachel Leedy
Receptionist
Rachel started working as the evening Receptionist at Hopewell in her senior year of high school. She now serves as out evening and weekend Receptionist.  

Kayla Wiley
Veterinary Assistant
Kayla came to us soon after graduating from high school. She is learning vet skills two-fold with hands on experience here while taking classes through Penn Foster.
