LASER SURGERY. Laser surgery reduces pain and hospitalization time for many surgical procedures. This is a real exciting addition for Dr. Scott and his staff. Getting our surgical patients back to normal as soon as possible is an important goal. Dr. Scott has been using laser surgery since 2003.
An excellent use of Laser Surgery is in the declawing of cats and kittens. Pain is reduced considerably and most of our patients are discharged the same day.
LASER THERAPY
Laser Therapy has been available at Mackinaw Veterinary Associates since 2008. Therapy Lasers are very useful in treating injuries and chronic sources of pain including arthritis. Treatments are painless to your pet and greatly enhance recovery from injuries. The whole process takes only a few minutes and allows many patients to function well with no medications. Laser therapy is usually done as an outpatient proceedure.
Ultrasound
Abdominal ultrasound service have been available at Mackinaw Veterinary Associates since 2000 and is very useful as a non-interventional form of diagnostics for abdominal disorders. This procedure allows us to see individual organs in a more detailed way compared to traditional X-rays.
Echocardiography
An Echocardiogram is an ultrasound of the heart and allows us to visualize your pet's heart functioning. It gives us a real-time picture of a contracting heart and helps us visualize diseased heart muscle and individual heart valves. We have provided echocardiography services since 2000.
