Dr. Amy Fleming
Veterinarian and Owner
Dr. Fleming received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from the University of Florida. She practiced for two years in Jacksonville, Florida before moving to Arkansas, the home state of her husband, Charles.
Ozark Veterinary Hospital was established in 1989 and moved across town in 1994 when the adjacent Pet Shop was opened. They have two children, Cheryl Ann 8 years, and Christopher 4 years. Also living with them are 2 cats, 1 dog, horses, chickens and a canary. Other interests are gardening, ballet and music, and she is an active member of First Lutheran Church.
Dr. John Muller
Veterinarian
Dr. John Muller graduated from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in the top 10% of his class. He is a member of The Society of Phi Zeta national honor society, and the Good Shepherd Humane Society in Eureka Springs. Dr. Muller and his wife, Mary, live in Eureka Springs where he had a veterinary practice for 14-1/2 years. Currently he has a full time job as Supervisory Veterinary Medical Officer in the Food Safety Inspection Service branch of the United States Department of Agriculture. He has worked part time here at Ozark Veterinary Hospital for 6 years, and does much of the surgery. He has also worked as a laboratory assistant, tutored nursing students, and as a substitute teacher for high school science.
"I really love working with animals and have a strong interest in surgery. All of my pets have been "foundlings" my wife and I have adopted through the years. We find this to be very rewarding. I am eager to teach young folks who are interested in veterinary careers."
Tonya Parker
Assistant
Tonya has worked at Ozark Veterinary Hospital for over one year and primarily works in the kennels and assists the doctors with treatments or in surgery. She has lived in Ohama all her life and recently married her husband James. She has a toy poodle, Puddin, 2 Boxers, Bambie & Pup, and a Great Pyrenees, plus 2 cats, 3 lovebirds, goats, rabbits,a hamster, and fish. She also enjoys gardening.
I have always loved animals and working with them. I grew up on a farm and have done this all of my life.
Jo Anne Lund
Receptionist
Jo Anne recently moved to Harrison from northern Michigan with her husband after he retired as a Police Sergant. She has worked at Ozark Veterinary Hospital for 3 months as a receptionist and enjoys meeting all the pets and their owners. She owns 6 Shelties currently and is a breeder and exhibitor of Shetland Sheep Dogs. Other hobbies include gardening and collecting antiques.
My favorite part of the job is seeing all the different kinds of pets our clients raise and hearing all their interesting stories.
Ben Byrd
Groomer
Ben has worked with animals all his life. He attended the Londonaire School of Dog Grooming and also has had training in animal behavior. He has been grooming dogs in Harrison for 28 years. He has worked at Ozark Veterinary Hospital since it opened in 1989. Ben has two daughters, four dogs, and 2 cats.
Becky Hansen
Assistant
Becky started working here in July. She has lived in Arkansas 9 years and has 4 dogs, MANY cats, 2 horses, a hamster, a mouse, and a rabbit. (She raised on a bottle after it had been brought to us because its tree had been cut down.) Most of her pets were strays. "I really enjoy my job here. I love getting to help animals of all sizes. Nothing is more gratifying than helping to save the life of an animal."
