Dr. Mark Powell
Veterinarian/Owner
Dr. Powell graduated in 1983 from Colorado State University. He began his career teaching at Utah State University and doing large animal ambulatory work for the university dairy, beef and sheep farms, and Division of Wildlife Research Facility. After moving to Colorado he leased a mixed practice in Lamar Colorado for 4 years. Returning to the front range he gained tremendous experience in orthopedic surgery with Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital in Denver Colorado. He has attended numerous post-graduate studies in orthopedics and has performed orthopedic procedures for the past 25 years. Powell Veterinary Service was opened in 1991 in Kersey. Since it's opening, PVS has continued to grow and prosper. When Dr. Powell is not caring for his patients, he can most often be found spending time in the great outdoors with his beloved golden retrievers!
Sherrie Fry
Veterinary Technician
Sherrie attended Bel-Rae Animal School of Veterinary Technology prior to moving to Kersey in 2004. She has been with Powell Veterinary Service for the last 5 years. Starting as the kennel technician and moving her way up to veterinary technician. She enjoys all animals as she has a wide assortment of them at home. She feels it is very rewarding to be apart of the health and well being of animals.
Eric Kantor
Kennel Technician
Eric is currently attending the University of Northern Colorado majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Network and Information Systems Security; he is expecting to graduate with a bachelor's degree in May 2013. He started working as a kennel technician for Powell Veterinary Service in January 2010. He enjoys taking care of animals of all sorts and currently owns a chocolate lab retriever. He understands their philosophy and is committed to providing the high standards that are required at Powell Veterinary Service. While in his spare time, Eric enjoys golfing, hunting, and playing basketball.
