Dr. Evzen O. Burian

Our veterinarian-in-charge, Dr. Evzen Burian,  oversees our clinic functions.  He remains a valuable advisor to our doctors with his more than 36 years of experience and expertise.   Of course, his Chihuahua mixed breed supervises us all.

 Dr. Deborah Scarborough

Dr. Scarborough began her professional career studying the behavioral ecology of desert amphibians and reptiles at the University of California, where she earned a master's in biology.  She became a doctor of veterinary medicine in 1996, when she graduated from North Carolina State University.  Dr. Scarborough owned and operated Azalea Coast Animal Care, a small animal, exotic, and avian veterinary clinic in North Carolina, for eight years.  When Dr. Scarborough relocated to Virginia Beach in 2009, we were very lucky to have her join our practice. As is evidenced by her background, Dr. Scarborough has extensive experience and interest in avian and exotic medicine, as well as small animal medicine and surgery.  Her home is shared with her husband, three cats, and Sammy the yellow-collared macaw.

Darlene

Our office manager,  Darlene, keeps us all in line and keeps us going!  With fifteen years of professional experience, we are very lucky that she takes care of us, and always with a smile.

Fran

Behind the scene much of the time, Fran is the glue that keeps our clinic together.  Having been with us since 1996, we would find it difficult to describe her function completely.  The complex tasks of record keeping, reminders, laboratory and radiograph dispatching, as well as receptionist are all part of the picture.  Thanks for being there, Fran!

Kimberly

Kim is our head receptionist, and has been with Providence Square for eight years.  Kim came to us after several years in the “human” medical field.  Anyone who has been to our clinic has enjoyed Kim’s cheerful attitude.  She loves Virginia Beach, but this native Californian still struggles with the nippy winters!

Liana

With twelve years of experience in both “human” nursing and all aspects of veterinary clinical work, we are fortunate to have Liana as our technician. Liana has chosen to devote her professional career to veterinary medicine, as is evident in the skill and knowledge she displays.

Nicole

Nicole is our veterinary assistant, with several years of experience in the field.  She is studying to be a licensed veterinary technician.  Nicole has recently added two fluff-balls to her home; it's very tempting to work at a veterinary clinic!

Renee

When you hear proper “Queen’s English” on the other end of the phone, that is our receptionist Renee.   She has traveled the world over, and we are grateful that she ended up in Virginia Beach.  Renee has many years of secretarial, administrative, and office experience.  There are two Australian Shepherds and a couple of pet Chinchillas that rule the roost at her house.
