Thank you for visiting our site. Total Care is a two doctor hospital that specializes in small animal medicine. We are a part of a larger group called Sacramento Animal Medical Group (SAMG) and National Petcare Centers (NPC). With these partnerships, we have access to various types of specialized medicine. We feel that the best medicine is the right medicine for your pet.

Preventative medicine is the key to a long and healthy life. Call and ask our Client Service Reps for questions on vaccinations, flea control, heartworm preventative, etc.

We now have an E-Mail address: We can now take your pharmacy refill requests through this email and also any questions or concerns you might have.

We are proud to have gained a 3-year accreditation with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Only about 15% of the small animal hospitals in the United States are accredited. Accreditation involves regular evaluation by the association's trained consultants, and a commitment to certain high standards for both the hospital facility and pet health care. A few of the things evaluated regarding the quality of our facilities include: animal runs and cages structured to minimize cross contamination amoung hospitalized and boarded pets, emergency lighting in the surgery suite in case of power outage, electronic apnea monitoring devices during anesthesia, and proper inspection of anesthetic, radiographic and sterilization equipment on the premises. Some of the things evaluated regarding practice standards include: radiographic technique and interpretation, medical records and charting, and pharmacy standards. A hospital can receive 2, 3, 4-year accreditation. This helps us to know that we have been meeting these high standards all along, but nonetheless we like the recognition!
