Traveling up valley or east on Highway 82 take a right at County Road 100. Catherine Store serves as a landmark. Make a quick left onto the old frontage road and proceed up valley approximately 2 miles where we are located on your left.
If traveling down valley proceed 2 miles west of El Jebel on Highway 82 and take a left accross from the Blue Lake entrance onto Valley Road. Take an immediate right onto the frontage road and proceed approximately 3/4 mile where we are located on the right

Description

The Alpine Animal Hospital has been serving the Roaring Fork Valley since 1970. We are located just 13 miles northwest from Aspen, Colorado on Highway 82. Our three doctors and staff provide 24 hour 7 days per week care for our clients and their animals. Our mission is to strive to use our knowledge and skills in our role as our patients advocates. We will aim to exceed client expectations in providing the highest quality medical and surgical care throughout all stages of our patients lives.
Complete hospital facilities are available for small and large animal patients. Most diagnostic , laboratory, treatment and surgical procedures are done in the hospital by our staff of 3 doctors and 6 certified veterinary technicians and assistants. In house equine abdominal surgery for colic is available at Alpine to completely serve the needs of our equine clients and those of western Colorado.
Because we operate as a hospital facility, we do not offer grooming and boarding services.

Small animal internal medicine, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, routine dentistry and endodontics, GI endoscopy, ultrasonography, digital radiography and endoscopy, extracorporeal shock wave therapy
Equine internal medicine, routine and emergency surgery, neonatal intensive care, advanced reproductive services including semen handling, artificial insemination and equine embryo transfer,extracorporeal shock wave therapy, FSA saddle fit/pressure mapping,and digital radiography
Llama and crea medicine and surgery is also offered.
Bovine herd health and emergency services are also provided.
Herd health services are also offered to captive elk herds in the area.

Dr. Chad Roeber has practiced at Alpine Animal Hospital since 1987. A native of Paonia, CO., he did his undergraduate work at the University of Denver and received his DVM from Colorado State University in 1986. His professional interest lie in cardiology, surgery, and diagnostic ultrasound. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Roeber enjoys spending time with his family and playing his Martin guitar. He has a dog Charlie and 2 cats Maude and Oliver.

Chuck Maker

Veterinarian, DVM

Dr. Maker's professional interests lie strongly in the fields of equine assisted reproductive techniques and equine lameness and surgery. Dr. maker is adept in equine embryo transfer and artificial insemination and stallion management.
Dr. Maker is available for both emergency and routine equine surgical care, including colic surgery. Dr. Maker is enrolled in Pfizer's Colic Assitance program as an approved provider for colic surgery.
Dr. Maker is a member of the American association of equine practitioners and american association of theriogenologists. Dr. Maker attends 60 hours of annual association meetings to ensure familiarity with new techniques related to the equine industry. We have added digital radiography, motorized entistry and extracorporeal shock wave therapy at Alpine to provide the latest advances in equine sports medicine. Dr. Maker is a 1994 graduate of the University of Tennessee's College of Veterinary Medicine. He lives with his wife Cheri and their 2 year old daughter Makenzie and 6 month old son Tristan in their home in Carbondale, CO. They have a dog Chelsea, a cat Fat Boy, a mule Lilly and a horse Kinky.

Terry is one of our certified veterinary technicians. She has been working here since 1994 when she and her family moved to the valley from Key West Florida. She turned to the veterinary technician program at CMC to start a new career. She had long dreamed of working with animals and joined us part time, as she studied at CMC. She graduated from CMC, became certified by the state board in 1998, and has worked full time since. She enjoys hiking, biking, camping and being a soccer mom. Her four legged kids include their dogs Buddy and Fannie and two rotten cats Fluffy and Kitten.

Becky joined Alpine Animal Hospital as a large animal tech in 2001. She is a native from Pueblo, CO. She is a 1999 graduate from Colorado Mountain College's CVT program and now works as both a large and small animal technician. Becky loves horses and the outdoors. She has a black Labrador Gossamer and a horse Smokey.

Carrie is currently living in Carbondale where she is a professional runner training for the olympics. Her spare time is spent on the family ranch in Gunnison, CO. where her family raises Bashkir Curly horses. She enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors with her Carbondale super-mutts Mazzie and Basha!
