Apopka Veterinary Clinic was established in 1967 by Dr. Frank Bunnell, and Dr. Kristine Sands purchased the practice in 1995. She has brought the clinic into the 21st Century while maintaining the heart and soul of a small-town clinic.
Since we are a one-doctor practice, you can be assured that you will always be a person and never a number with us. We pride ourselves on personalized service, and we care deeply about each and every one of our clients and patients.

Dr. Sands went to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to earn her undergraduate degree in biology, before attending veterinary school at North Carolina State University to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She graduated in 1992, and practiced in North Carolina for 2 years before moving to Florida. She purchased the Apopka Veterinary Clinic in 1995. She married in 1997 and now lives happily in Apopka with her husband Albert and their many furry children.

Sunshine is a native Apopkan. She joined the practice in 1999, and is a valuable member of our management team. She lives in Apopka with her husband, daughter, and furry children.

Donna is a native Apopkan who has worked for the Apopka Veterinary Clinic for over 20 years. She is our head technician, and is quite knowledgeable about pet care and our community.

Laura joined our team in 2002, and works hard to keep your pets comfortable in our large boarding facility as well as assisting the doctor and head technician.

Jennifer joined our team in 2005 and has been a great asset. You can find Jennifer answering the phones and taking care of clients as well as helping in the kennel and assisting in the exam room. Jennifer always has a smile and a great disposition and will do whatever she can to make sure our clients are happy.

Bunni is our part-time technician. She owns a landscaping business in the area with her husband, but works with us one day per week, because she loves the profession. She is an excellent technician and is available to answer all of your questions about pet care. She might even offer some tips on lawn care as well!

Veterinary Assistant

|
Christine started in 2006, and is one of our newest team members. She always has a bright smile and is ready to help in any way she can. Christine can be found helping in the kennel and assisting the doctor and technicians, as well as working as a receptionist.
