Registered Veterinary Technician
“TERRY” – With Veterinary Medicine always being an interest of mine, the choice I made to go to a Veterinary Technician school has been one of the best decisions I ever made. Getting my education in Denver, Colorado at BelRae Institute of Animal Technology, I graduated as Valedictorian of my class with an Associate of Science degree in Veterinarian Technology. The program was a two year agenda including a thirteen week internship at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital, the hospital featured in the Animal Planet series “Emergency Vets”. After completing school, I moved to Texas where I took my national and state board exams to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. As an RVT I am qualified to perform a variety of different tasks in the veterinary field. Some of these jobs include: lab work, radiology, anesthesia, light surgery, wound repair, and all aspects of the office responsibilities involved in operating a clinic. My first job was in Texas at a busy four doctor mixed animal practice, where I worked for 1½ years. Becoming homesick for Wyoming, I changed jobs and moved a bit closer to home, to another four doctor practice in Cheyenne, where I worked for six months. Then I received a phone call to come work for Dr. Acker in Greybull, where I have been working the last four years.

Owner - Animal House Pet Grooming
I completed pet grooming school in May, 1996. The next month I opened Animal House Pet Grooming, on Absaroka Street here in Powell. In February of 1997, I moved the business to Big Horn Animal Care. This has proven to be a very beneficial move. Now I can provide quality pet grooming and have superior veterinary medicine right at my fingertips. A lot of times while grooming an animal I will find something that is questionable, and instead of telling the owner and have them make an appointment somewhere else, or forgetting it altogether until the next grooming, or until it is a real problem. I can now have a medical professional take a look and tell me if there is a concern or not. We can also vaccinate while the animal is already here. This can save a lot of time for my clients.
I offer all types of pet grooming, from bathing your cat to your Saint Bernard. All types of clips, nail trimming, anal gland expressed, ears cleaned, etc. I also provide all kinds of baths: oatmeal, hot oil treatments, flea baths, and dips. If you need it, I can most likely do it.
