Description

We are a full service veterinary hospital offering complete medical, surgical and dental services. We were founded in 1976 by Dr. James Bostic. The practice was purchased by Dr. Gail Bostic in 1992 after the retirement of Dr. James Bostic. We are AAHA certified which means we have to meet more stringent standards of care. We have a special interest in reproduction and perform cooled semen shipments, artificial insemination and surgical implantation of semen. Dr. Gail Bostic has been certified to perform the Penn-hip procedure which can diagnose hip dysplasia more accurately and at an earlier age.

Dr. Gail Bostic

Veterinarian

Graduated from Va-Md regional college of vet medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia in 1986. Purchased Bostic Veterinary Hospital from her father-in-law in 1992 after his retirement. Dr. Gail Bostic enjoys riding her horse, going to the beach, and spending time with her two children.

Connie Keesling

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Connie has been with Bostic Veterinary Hospital for 25 years. Her many years of experience make her an invaluable part of the Bostic team. Connie's special interest is canine reproduction, attending seminars, talking to veterinarians who specialize in reproduction, and reading any new material that comes in, Connie makes sure our clinic stays on top of the latest information and techniques available. She loves her slightly plump orange kitty, "Kitsy" and has gotten alot of enjoyment from her new puppy "Kakkie". Her family is originally from West Virginia. She graduated from technician school in Sanford, North Carolinia.

Julie Messer

Practice Manager

Julie has been with Bostic Veterinary Hospital for 10 years. She started as a receptionist and is now in charge of running the business. She's the backbone to the company, from keeping employees straight to keeping clients happy. She's our decision maker and life preserver. She is originally from Nebraska and will be glad to talk football with you. She spends most of her free time taking her 3 boys to football, basketball, etc. She also raises and shows Persian cats, and we think hers are the best of the best. Her house wouldn't be the same without all those little faces running around.

Nicole Bostic

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Nicole has been working with animals in some way or another since high school. She married into the Bostic family and she and her husband Donald ran the Owl Creek Pet Hotel when it was owned by Dr.and Mrs. James Bostic. Nicole took two years off to go to technician school in Sanford, North Carolina. She swaps roles from technician to groomer. She is very kind and gentle with the animals and provides them with lots of TLC. Nicole had her first child in November, a little boy named Johnathan who has a smile on his face all the time. Nicole also has 2 Golden Retreviers and 3 cats.

Andrea Fahringer

receptionist

Andrea has been receptionist at Bostic Veterinary Hospital for 3 years. She, her husband and two boys moved to this area from California. Andrea is the smiling face that greets you at the door and the voice that helps you on the telephone. Andrea has many years of animal experience including being a Humane Officer in the State of California for the U.S.Humane Society and if you have a question Andrea is the woman to find you the answer. She is another serious animal lover. If she gets any more dogs, she may need a kennel license. She has a Great Dane named Sabrina and a golden retriever named Coby, 2 more mixes and 2 crazy persians plus a ferret. Andrea is a real softie when it comes to animals and enjoys helping people with their pets.

Tammy Hoffman

Veterinary Assistant

Tammy has been a member of the Bostic Veterinary team for almost 4 years. This past March Tammy was given the position of assisting the doctors in the exam rooms. Her pleasant personality makes Tammy a joy to work with. Tammy also spends some of her time helping with receptionist duties, greeting clients as they come in. Tammy, her husband and 2 sons have lived in the Tidewater area forever. Tammy enjoys her lab mix, Jordan, and taking her boys to their various sports events.
