Staff Members

Dr. Leon Freeland

Owner and Veterinarian

Dr. Leon Freeland is a native of Nebraska. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1983 and from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University in 1988.
After graduation, Dr. Freeland practiced emergency and general veterinary medicine in Des Moines, Iowa for six years. He then moved to Indianapolis where he has been in general practice since.
His special interests include internal medicine, cardiology, dermatology, and feline medicine.
Dr. Freeland is married and lives in Carmel. He has two children and two cats. His hobbies are auto racing, football, and golf.

Deanna McCoy

Technician/Receptionist

Deanna has been in the pet care industry for seven years. She was a kennel assistant for four years. She has been working as a technician for the last three years.
Deanna lives in Carmel with Bugsy (Shepherd mix), Maggie Mae(Cavalier King Charles Spaniel), Belle(Shepherd mix), and Chaplin(He's a cat, but he thinks he is the pack leader!)
Ask to see a picture when you stop by the hospital!!!
Also, Deanna is currently taking classes through the AAHA Distance Education Program.

Suzy Miller

Technician/Receptionist

Suzy began working with animals 13 years ago in the kennels at an eastside animal hospital. She left there to pursue a career as a Paralegal, attending Bristol University and obtaining an Associate Degree. Suzy is very happy to be back working with animals and plans to become a Registered Technician. Suzy resides on the eastside of Indianapolis with her Maltese, Kip.

Hans Ahasteen

Technician/Receptionist

Hans has worked with Dr. Freeland for seven years. When she isn't working, she attends IUPUI and plays with her two cats, Joanna and Bahi.

Crystal Cooley

Technician/Receptionist

Crystal shares her eastside home with her new cat, Gizmo. She hopes to begin the AHAA Distance Learning Program as soon as possible.
