Ms. Betty Barrosse
Kennel Manager
Betty Barrosse was born in Honduras; her ancestors left Louisiana in the late 1800's and then established in a Central American country a long tradition of farming and animal husbandry. Her home from infancy was a large farm with cattle, horses, poultry, dogs, cats, and some occasional stray undomesticated animals. White tail deer, rabbits, raccoons, and ant eaters were only a few of the species to be found in the tropical setting where she grew up. She became very close to farm animals and watching her father and older brother learned to love and care for them.
Betty attended the Pablo Menzel School and then graduated from the Evangelical Institute in San Pedro Sula, Honduras where she distinguished herself and was awarded her degree and certification in Primary Education. She taught primary school and ran an "English as a second language" laboratory for the Navy whe she lived in Honduras.
In 1982 she relocated to the United States and found her calling by involving herself in the veterinary profession. She quickly learned how to put to good use all she had learned while growing up.
Today she is very proud to be a member of the Causeway Animal Hospital family. Betty and her daughter Michelle live in their home in Kenner.
