Description

Just as our mission statements says, we combine the latest in small and large animal medicine and surgery, with old fashioned customer service.

We currently have four veterinarians and many staff members that help us accomplish our mission. We offer a wide range of services and treat all types of animals from large to small. We have recently quadrupled the size of our clinic, to offer you the best service possible for your pet!

Staff Members

Dr. Troy Nelson

Owner and Veterinarian

Dr. Nelson is native to western Kentucky and a 1977 graduate of Auburn University. He purchased the Country Clinic in 1990. He has been enjoying the country practice lifestyle since that time! Free time is spent with his 6 dogs, 5 cats, and 13 horses.

Dr. Tavis White

Owner and Veterinarian

Dr. White, a 1993 graduate of Auburn University, is originally from Lexington, Kentucky. Dr. White specializes in small animal medicine and is actively involved in the Madison County Small Animal Veterinary Medical Association. He and his wife have a son named Tommy.

Sherry Visone

Bookkeeper

Sherry is our bookkeeper. She also fills in with receptionist duties. She and Dr. Nelson have worked together since 1980. She enjoys her pets, as well as being a very proud grandmother!

Wendy Collins

Technician

Wendy helps wherever she is needed! Her primary duties include animal care, but she routinely helps in treatment and surgery.

Gwyn Wright

Technician

Gwyn has worked at other clinics, and brings that experience with her. She assists wherever she is needed in the clinic. Her primary duties are outpatient animal care and surgery assistance.

Glen

Vet Assistant

"Bear" has been with the practice, off and on, since 1986. He currently assists with surgery and outpatient animal services.

Jaime Shumate

Kennel Assistant

Jaime joined our staff in Jan. of 2000 as a kennel assistant and has been taking care of your pets who are boarding. We are glad to have Jaime as part of our animal care plan.

Marian Noe

Receptionist

Marian was an original employee of Country Clinic and was here when Dr. Nelson purchased the practice. She has stayed on to keep things running smoothly in reception.

Dr. Jill Bates

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Bates comes to us from Texas A&m Univ. She and her husband live in Elkton, TN. We are pleased to have Dr. Bates with us as she is a very good diagnostician.

Dr. Shannon Murray-Johnson

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Johnson joined our practice in 1995 shortly after graduating from Auburn Univ. College of Vet. Med. She is now working part time since the birth of her daughter. She does both horses and small animal medicine.

Paula Lane

Kennel Assistant

Paula has been helping in the kennel since late 2000. She takes her duties seriously and has been an asset in the kennel area. She also fills in up front when needed.

Janis Galloway

Kennel Assistant

Jan joined the staff in August of 2001 and does a journeyman's job in the kennel area. She is also training in the lab area and with surgical assisting.

Misty Rolin

Kennel Assistant

Misty has been with us since September of 2001 and helps out in the kennel area. She also does a great job keeping the clinic clean for the animals and people!
