Description

Centennial Valley Animal Hospital, PC is a modern, AAHA certified hospital that specializes in small animals, avian and exotics.

From the inception of our practice, we have seen ourselves as a didicated group of professionals working together to do an excellent job for our clients, patients, and the profession. We attribute our success to our fine staff and the services we offer.

One of the strong points of our philosophy is our teamwork attitude and our emphasis on communication. We believe in the delivery of up-to-date services to our patients in the most compassionate and humane manner that we can carry out as well as being caring and sensitive with our clients.

Complete physical exams, In-house Laboratoy including: bloodwork, urinalysis, stool analysis, cytology, diagnostic radiology including: X-rays, ultrasound, full range of dental services, surgery, anesthetic monitoring, pharmacy, hospitalization, behavior counseling, puppy socialization class, microchipping, boarding limited to cats, birds and exotics, nutrition and weight management counseling, bird grooming, preventative care

Dr. Lisa Barlow

Veterinarian and Owner

Dr. Lisa Barlow was raised in Layton, Utah. For as long as she can remember, she wanted to be a veterinarian! She did her undergraduate work at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah and entered Colorado State University's veterinary medicine program in August of 1981. She graduated from CSU in 1985. After working at a couple of practices, she opened Centennial Valley Animal Hospital, PC in April of '89. She likes all aspects of veterinary practice, but especially enjoys internal medicine, behavior and exotics (ferrets, repitles & birds).

She shares her home with her new husband, Carl, 1 dog, 4 cats, 2 ferrets, 3 birds, 1 iguana, 2 rabbits and 2 llamas. when she is away from the practice, she enjoys hiking, skiing, biking, reading and visiting friends and family.

Dr. Rebecca Hover

Veterinarian

Dr. Rebecca Hover is a Denver native. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology at Colorado State University. Two Years later she was accepted into CSU's veterinary medicine program and graduated in May 1996. She joined Centennial Valley Animal Hospital, PC immediately after graduation.

While in veterinary school, she had anticipated working in a zoo or with marine wildlife. However, the path of life led her to small animal practice and she has enjoyed it ever since. Her favorite fields of veterinary medicine are cardiology and internal medicine. She is currently expanding her knowledge in veterinary dentistry and snake medicine.

She and her husband share their home with 2 wonderfull dogs, three wonderful cats and one rabbit.

Dr. Virginia Rickford

Veterinarian

Dr. Virginia I. Rickford moved to Colorado when she was ten years old. She did her undergraduate study in microbiology at Colorado State University and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in May 1996. After graduation, she started her career at a small animal practice in Denver and then joined Centennial Valley Animal Hospital, PC in July 1997. She thinks the best part of Veterinary medicine is the variety of animals that come to the gospital everyday. Her professional interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and avian medicine. She also enjoys educating the community and children through career days and girl scouts.

She spends her free time at home with her husband, daughter, 3 dogs and 2 cats. Dr. Rickford and her husband are currently expecting a new baby due early next year!

Gina Stonier

Certified Veterinary Technician

Gina graduated from the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in March 1997 and started with us in May 1997. She implemented and teaches the puppy socialization classes offered at the hospital. She spends her spare time with her husband, two dogs and two cockatiels.

Jennifer Nowlin

Certified Veterinary Technician

Jennifer graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in March 1998. She shares her home with her 3 Papillon dogs and 3 cats. She enjoys sailing in her sailboat, travel, dancing, hiking and forcing herself to workout.

Sam Boytim

Certified Veterinary Technician

Sam graduated form the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in March 1998. She also works as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) on an ambulance. Sam's specialty is emergency medicine. She has a fat lazy black cat and enjoys scuba diving and camping.

Kathleen Russell

Bookkeeper

Kathleen is and avid horse trainer, rider and coach. She also shows her Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs. She competes nationwide with her horses and dogs. She shares her home with her husband and 5 "Roadies": Rhett, Bella, Ring, Anna and Winston.

Tara Bartolome

Receptionist

Originally from Hawaii, Tara is a recycling and vegetarian fiend. Tara shares a home with her boyfriend, 2 Akitas, 2 Mutts, 4 cats, and various snakes and lizards. She enjoys camping and painting in her spare time.

Alex Lemaster

Receptionist

Alex graduated from Denver Academy High School in June 1999. She enjoys spending her time riding her horse: Seamus A.K.A. "Ready Kilowatt" and dancing.

Kathy Hollister

Receptionist

Kathy spends her time mountain trekking, snow shoeing, and competing her horse. She has two dogs, five cats, one bird and two horses.

Sarah Spieler

Veterinary Technician Assistant

Sarah is a student at Fairview High School. She enjoys playing soccer and the bass guitar.

Leah Stangel

Veterinary Technician Assistant

Leah is a student at Monarch High School. Leah enjoys riding horses.
