Dogwood Veterinary Hospital was established in May 1997 after purchasing the practice from James Hensley, DVM. The hospital has been in existance over 20 years at the same location. The staff of Dogwood Veterinary Hospital is dedicated in providing current and the best veterinary medicine for your pet's health. All of the staff members are pet owners and are knowledgeable of the safest pet products available. At Dogwood Veterinary Hospital, we treat both dogs and cats. Our services include vaccinations, general dentistry, surgery, and boarding. We have in house X-ray and bloodwork ability. With these two services, diagnosis only takes a few minutes as compared to a few hours or even the next day.

Dr. Trent Marr graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1996. Since then he has been working in small animal private practice seeing mainly dogs and cats. He and his wife, Dinah, have a Jack Russell Terrier named OSCAR ( whose picture is atop each page ) and a Persian cat named Gus the Smuffleluficus, aka SMUFF. They have another Lab/Dalmation cross named GUBER that lives on a farm with his grandparents.
Dr.Marr's outside interests including hunting, watching and attending collegiate (Oklahoma State University) athletic events, playing baseball and softball, and throwing Oscar's fluffy toy.

Sally worked at the hospital while under the previous ownership and stayed onboard after the change. She has been here for over 7 years and is the backbone to the practice. Sally is an active member of a rescue and adoption organization called SOFTPAW. They help place abandoned pets, conduct many pet education events locally, and assist pet owners with a spay/neuter program. Sally and her husband, Joel, have 5 cats and 3 dogs. She also enjoys reading and gardening.

Renee' started in August of 1999. She is currently attending college to fulfill her Pre-Vet requirements for applying to Vet School. She plans on applying next year. Before relocating to Shawnee, Renee' worked at a veterinary hospital in Lawernce, Kansas. She is very knowledgeable in providding information about your pet's health. Renee also owns two cats.

Sondra graduated from Murray State College in 1998 to become a certified veterinary technician. Since then she has decided to further her education and apply to vet school as well within the next couple of years. Sondra and her husband, Jamie, have one cat and two small dogs. Outside of work she enjoys singing.

Dr. Gary Marr is a partner of Dogwood Veterinary Hospital. However, he practices mainly at his clinic, Elms Animal Hospital, in Del City, Oklahoma. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1966. Ocassionally he sees emergency cases or fills in if Dr. Trent Marr is unavailable.
