Travel Directions

The Equine Hospital and Lameness Center is located at 5100 N. Star Rd. in Meridian. We are located on Star Rd. between McMillan Rd. and Chinden Blvd(Hwy 20-26). From Interstate 84, take exit 38, at the offramp stop light turn right headed North toward the Idaho Center. Turn right on Franklin Blvd heading East toward the Swiss Village Cheese Factory. At the intersection of Franklin and Star Rd. turn left onto Star Rd. heading North. Travel approximately 3 and 3/4 miles North on Star Rd. crossing McMillan and Star. The hospital is now on your right hand side of the road. It is a light yellow building, white trim with a blue roof. From the North side of the Treasure Valley, head West on Chinden Blvd until you come to the stop light at Chinden

The Equine Hospital and Lameness Center is dedicated to providing the best possible veterinary health care for our patients and the finest possible service to our clients in an environment of friendliness, understanding and compassion. We take great pride in being accessible to our clients to answer questions and help them with their veterinary needs. We stay currrent with new developments in Equine veterinary care through our attendance at Equine conferences all over the United States. Our staff loves what they do, and it shows!

Staff Members

Dr. David P Hayes, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Hayes graduated from the Veterinary School at the University of California at Davis in the Equine tract in 1982. He established his Equine practice in Idaho in the Treasure Valley that same year. His background includes teaching Farrier Science at Cal Poly State University in Pomona, Calif as well as being a working farrier for approximately 15 years prior to graduating from Veterinary School. He is a certified Journeyman Farrier with the American Farriers Association. His special interests are in lameness evaluations, reproduction and dentistry. Dr. Hayes raises performance Quarter Horses and stands his own stallion "Sons Who", a Son O Sugar, Sugar Bars bred horse at the hospital. His hobbies include working with his ranch raised horses, team roping and spending time with his wife and 3 children.
