Description

Finlayson Animal Hospital, P.C., is a full service veterinary hospital. We treat several species or animals. We provide services to dogs, cats and horses. In addition, we also take care of potbellied pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits and many small mammals such as ginny pigs and hamsters. Appointments are available daily for routine examinations, vaccinations and evaluation of ill animals. In addition we have available equipment for radiographic (x-ray) as well as ultrasound evaluation of pets and large animals. Our surgery room is equipped to handle most surgical procedures from neutering and spays to more complex orthopedic surgeries. We have in house laboratory services available, but also utilize other private laboratories for extensive laboratory tests. These results may be available the same day, but are usually available to us on an over night basis. Those animals, including horses, that need more intensive care, can be hospitalized at our facility. In addition we board dogs and cats on a regular basis.

Alan J. Finlayson

Veterinarian

Dr. Finlayson grew up on a cattle ranch in Montana where he had lots of hands on experience with all kinds of animals. He trained horses at one time and also entered some rodeo events and rode bareback horses and bulls. He graduated with his degree in veterinary medicine from Colorado State University in 1972. After graduation he completed a one year internship at Purdue University in Lafayette Indiana. Dr. Finlayson's wife, Gayla is very proud of their 4 children and 3 grandchildren. When Dr. Finlayson is not practicing veterinary medicine he coaches youth sports, especially baseball. He also builds and flies radio control airplanes.

Fran Gerber

Receptionist, Vetrerinary Technician

When you call or visit Finlayson Animal Hospital Fran's voice and smiling face will be the one to greet you. She is a careing, yet efficient individual that, will listen to your problem, schedule your appointment or handle any other problems that you or your pet might have. Fran says this about herself: "I'm a very outgoing person. I like to get to know the clients and become their friends. I want to make them feel warm and comfortable while they are here".

Faith Gibbons

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Faith is the person that keeps everything running here. Besides being a friendly and caring person, she is a skilled veterinary technician. She assists in surgery, takes blood samples, and provides a lot of the care to the animals that are hospitalized. Faith and her husband Bill have an assortment of animals at their home, Faith has brought two cats to the clinic that have ended up living here. Faith loves horse back riding and likes to ride every chance she gets.

Sam and Miss Kitty

Hospital Cats

When you walk in the door of our hospital you will be greeted and checked out by our two clinic cats. Sam is a big yellow neutered male tabby. Miss Kitty is a grey, long haired, spayed female. They seem to like everyone that walks in. They will very likely climb on the chair next to you and want some attention. We often say that the only reason that we work here, is because the cats allow us the privilege of being here to see to their needs.
