Dr. M. J. Bojrab and the staff of Lake Mead Animal Hospital have been working to keep your pets healthy and happy ever since the clinic was founded in 1986. Our mission is to provide you and your pets with service of the highest quality, keeping your companions healthy and giving you piece of mind.

DR. M. Joseph Bojrab DVM, MS, Ph.D.

President

Dr. M. J. Bojrab graduated in 1964 from Purdue University He completed an Internship and Residency at Cornell University in 1966 and then accepted a position as Instructor in the Department of Veterinary Surgery at Oklahoma State University. During his initial tenure at Oklahoma State he completed a Master of Science in Physiology in 1968. He received a National Science Foundation Science Faculty Fellowship in 1969 and traveled to the University of Bristol in England where he studied Veterinary Anatomy and received his Ph.D. in 1971. He returned to Oklahoma State and was appointed Associate Professor and Head of Small Animal Surgery in 1973. Dr. Bojrab joined the faculty at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine and became Professor and Head of Small Animal Surgery. In July of 1987 he moved to Las Vegas and began a surgical consulting practice. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and has delivered over 550 seminars and presentations on veterinary surgery to international, national, regional, state and local associations including visiting lectureships to Japan, England, France, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium and Israel. He recognizes the value of practical presentations which gives the practicing veterinarian material they can use.
He was awarded the Bourgelat Award for 1981, "the primary international recognition for really outstanding contribution to the field of Small Animal Practice" by the British Small Animal Veterinary Medical Association and "The Veterinarian of the Year" distinction by the American Animal Hospital Association for 1982. He also received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Purdue University, School of Veterinary Medicine in September, 1984 "in recognition of outstanding accomplishments in and contributions to the field of Veterinary surgery",
He is the editor of seven texts on small animal surgery, Current Techniques in Small Animal Surgery I, II, III & IV Small Animal Oral Medicine and Surgery, Pathophysiology in Small Animal Surgery, Disease Mechanisms in Small Animal Surgery, and author of A Handbook on Veterinary Wound Management.
He is presently a member of the Scientific Program Committee for the Wild West Veterinary Conference and program co-ordinator for the Central Veterinary Conference.
