Dana Clark, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Dana Clark was born in American Fork, Utah. As a young boy many of his summers were spent working on his Uncle’s cattle ranch in Southern Utah. It was there that his desire to become a veterinarian was born.

After filling an LDS mission to New Zealand, Dr. Clark enrolled at Brigham Young University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree. While attending BYU, Dr. Clark met his future wife, Suzanne Simmons, and they were married 1 year later. Following graduation from BYU, Dr. Clark received his Masters Degree from Utah State University. Dr. Clark graduated from Colorado State University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in January 1986. After finishing an internship, Dr. Clark and his family moved to Bountiful and established Lakeview Animal Hospital.

Dr. Clark has served as the past president of the Salt Lake Veterinary Medical Association and is presently serving as the Chairman of the Public Relations Committee of the Utah Veterinary Medical Association.

The Clark’s are the parents of 5 children; Karalee, Amy, Walker, Katie, and Jennie. Annie, their faithful dog; Scratchin, their cat; and Ruff, their cockatiel round out the family.

Dr Clark, otherwise known as “Dad” at home, enjoys backpacking, fishing, and hiking. He also is an avid runner, whose goal it is to become a member of the St. George Marathon’s 10-year Club.

Evan Gubler, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Evan Gubler was born and raised in Utah’s Dixie. His family had a small farm in Santa Clara, Utah where he learned much about farming and caring for animals. Dr. Gubler says “I was intrigued by our local veterinarian and his work, especially when our animals needed attention. I suppose that these experiences as a boy, coupled with my love of animals, is what sparked my interest and desire to become a veterinarian.”

Dr Gubler served a LDS mission to Austria where he learned a lot about people, and greatly enjoyed the experience. “Austria is a beautiful country with a great deal of history.” Upon his return home, Dr. Gubler resumed his educational pursuits at Dixie College. This is where he met and married his wife, Myrta Spendlove. After their marriage, Evan & Myrta enrolled at Utah State University where he worked for the Veterinary Science department. “Myrta and I really enjoyed living in Logan and made many good friends there.”

Myrta and Evan had three daughters when he left Logan and moved to Fort Collins, Colorado. This is where they became aquatinted with Dana & Suzanne Clark as Dr. Clark was attending veterinary school there at the same time. Myrta and Evan added two sons to their family while in Colorado.

Following graduation from CSU in 1984, Dr Gubler moved his family to Layton, Utah. “There I began to learn the practical applications of my profession.” Dr. Gubler spent 6 years working in Layton and made many wonderful friends while working there.

In the spring of 1990, Dr. Gubler joined Dr. Clark at Lakeview Animal Hospital in Bountiful. The Gublers have 9 children (5 daughters and 4 sons). The Gubler family enjoys the outdoors and like to camp, fish and hike. Evan enjoys gardening and household projects. “Being a veterinarian is very rewarding and enjoyable, I enjoy helping animals along with their owners.”

Warren J. Hess, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr Warren Hess is a native of Bountiful - graduating from Bountiful High School in 1977. He is the son of Lt. Colonel Jay C. Hess (USAF Ret.) and Marjorie Hess. Dr. Hess married Lori Gillette, also of Bountiful, in 1981 and they have 5 children - Emily, Matthew, Spencer, Isaac and Rebecca.

Dr. Hess attended the University of Utah and Brigham Young University before receiving his bachelor and Doctorate degrees from Colorado State University in 1986 and 1989 respectively. Dr Hess worked in Salt Lake City and Roy for 4 years before opening his own house-call practice in 1993 where he treated dogs, cats, birds and other exotic animals. Due to a debilitating accident in 1996 he had to close his house-call practice and joined the Doctors at Lakeview Animal Hospital, as he was able to resume practicing again in 1997.

Dr Hess and his family are the proud parents of 1 dog, Skittles - an 8-year-old miniature poodle, 2 birds - a cockatiel and ringneck parakeet, 2 horses and a rat. He likes to camp, fish, ride horses and tinker with computers. An ideal day would consist of paddling a raft on a lake in the Uintas - fishing!
