Longmont Small Animal Hospital is located on Third Ave in Longmont Colorado. From Main Street which is Highway 287 going south make left onto 3rd Street and go about 1/2 mile and we are on the left hand side of the street. We are at the corner of 3rd and Baker.

The Longmont Small Animal Hospital is a 4 year level AAHA hospital(highest possible AAHA rating to get)(Less than 12% of all USA veterinary hospitals are AAHA approved) and therefore we are required and want to provide our clients with the best veterinary care possible for any given situation. We are a full service animal hospital with full medical and surgical care. Longmont Small Animal Hospital have always and will continue to serve our clients for after hour emergencies. One veterinarian is on call and can be reached via cell phone through our answering service after hours and on weekends. Dr. Harvey D. Shaffer

Veterinarian/Owner

Dr. Shaffer grew up in eastern Colorado and is a graduate of Colorado State University Veterinary College. Following his graduation, he completed a year's internship at Oklahoma State University specializing in small animal(dog and cat) surgery, internal medicine and skin disorders.
Dr. Shaffer believes you should expect the best veterinary care for your pet. It is your companion, friend, confidant and an important family member. Because your pet's good health is such an important priority to Dr. Shaffer, his hospital is staffed with top quality, well trained personnel. Dr. Shaffer believes in having the newest equipment available to give each client a correct diagnosis for the prevention and treatment of disease and injury.
Dr. Shaffer attends continuing education classes to keep abreast on the latest techniques used for complex surgeries and treatment of disease.
