From I-5, take the Kent-Des Moines exit, heading east. This will turn into Willis. Turn left on Central. After you pass through James, watch on the right for the baseball field - just around the bend is our office on the right. We have a large wooden dog on our sign, who is usually dressed in a seasonal costume. Recently, we added a carved, wooden cat who is now perched beside him! If you come to Carpinito Brothers, you've just missed us.
You can also take Highway 167 and take the Central Avenue exit and head south on Central. Go past Carpinito Brothers and watch for us on the left.

Staff Members

Dr. Rob McMonigle

Veterinarian, DVM

Dr. McMonigle is a 1998 graduate of Washington State. He started working in the practice that same year. Rob grew up in Kent and enjoys working with people and their animals. He's an avid cyclist and enjoys spending his off-hours with his wife and three children. His two dog's are often seen running around the hospital, while his cats have opted to stay home.

Dr. Sandy Larson

Veterinarian, DVM

Dr. Larson is a 1977 graduate of Washington State. He's been working with us since 2001 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the practice. Sandy enjoys spending his free time in the great outdoors with his wife and son. They have recently adopted a great dog.

Dr. Ali Clark

Veterinarian, DVM

Dr. Clark recently joined McMonigle Veterinary Hospital PLLC. She graduated from Washington State University class of 2008. As an avid exotics (reptiles, birds, small mammals) fan, she will be expanding our practice to care for these patients. In her spare time she enjoys her own snakes (Princess, Gwenny and Hoggle), cats (Misty and Simon) and spending time with her husband Charlie. As a former competitive gymnast she plans to continue to pursue coaching gymnastics in the future.

Dr. David McMonigle

Veterinarian, DVM

Dr. McMonigle is also graduate of Washington State. He graduated in 1963 and was the original founder, back in 1974, when the clinic first opened its doors. David is semi-retired, but enjoys coming back for a cameo appearance to fill in for vacationing doctors and to visit with the same loyal clients that have been with us since the 60s. David and his wife are enjoying retirement and can be regularly be found on the tennis court and large vegetable garden.

Michele Hope

Practice Manager

Michele joins Cindy in greeting our clients and booking appointments. She is training to be the new Practice Manager. She graduated from the University of Washington in 2004 with degrees in Psychology and History. She spends her free time snowboarding, backpacking, playing tennis and riding behind her husband Garrett on his motorcycle. They have a puppy, Elway, who spends his days sleeping at the front desk.

Stacy

Veterinary Technician

Stacy graduated in 2000 from Pierce College’s Veterinary Technology Program. She recently joined our staff with Cordia and will be doing our in house lab work, anesthesia, teeth cleanings, radiography and general assisting. Stacy has four cats and a dog. Stacy spends time outdoors and watching football, hockey and UFC.

Cordia Mickelson

Veterinary Technician

Cordia graduated in 2005 from Pierce College’s Veterinary Technology Program. She recently joined our staff with Stacy and will be doing our in house lab work, anesthesia, teeth cleanings, radiography and general assisting. Cordia and her husband have two dogs and a horse. She enjoys mountain trail riding, hiking, skiing and reading.

Michael Ray

Veterinary Assistant

Michael has been with MVH since 2000 and spends most of the day alongside the doctors during surgeries and exams. He also orders products & pharmaceuticals and cares for the pets in recovery. If you have product or food questions, he's your guy. Michael spends his free time with his fiancée Jen and three children, listening to music or going to an occasional wrestling match or concert. His family recently acquired a puppy for the kids. His brother was recently deployed to Iraq, but will be home in time for the wedding next year.

Cindy

Front Office Assistant

Cindy has been with MVH since 2005. She can be found in the front office helping clients and bringing humor and smiles to all those who stop by. She is back in school and working on an Associates Degree in Psychology.
She has a beautiful orange and white short hair cat, and a new puppy. She enjoys spending her free time with her adventurous young son, Collin.

Jennie McCrory

Veterinary Assistant

Jennie has been with MVH since 2006. She is planning on continuing her education and becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. Jennie also works part time as a barista at a coffee stand.

Sarah

Front Office Assistant

Sarah has joined Cindy at the front desk. In addition to her receptionist duties she is also helping the Vet. Assistants in the back and she is fluent in ASL, which has been a great help for our deaf clients. In her spare time she dances with Fire and Ice Irish dancers.

Jon Poff

Part time Veterinarian Assistant

Jon is currently attending the University of Washington in the Pre-Vet program. He has been an avid reptile enthusiast for the past 10+ years.

Carolyn

Part time Veterinarian Assistant

Carolyn first came to us as an intern and is now working part time assisting the doctors in surgery and during exams. She enjoys spending her free time with her son, Kaiden. She has two cats and puppy and is going to Pierce College to become a Certified Veterinary Technician.

Dugan

Unofficial Greeter

Dugan is a bit of a mystery. He came to us fresh off the streets with no history, with the exception that we know his rear foot got run over. He still does this cute, hoppy-skippy thing with his back legs.

Hobbes

Rob’s new puppy can sometimes been seen lumbering around the hospital. He loves chewing and playing.

Elway

Official Greeter

Elway is Michele’s puppy, and he has claimed his space at the front desk. He loves playing with other dogs. He spends most of his time sleeping at the front desk.

Orca & Tommy

Clinic Cats

Tommy is the handsome, yet aloof shorthaired and Orca is the super-fluffy longhaired. You’ll usually find them roaming around the clinic or perched in the picture window. Both are equally unimpressed with barking dogs and keep focused on their duties of soliciting food or snoozing.
