Travel Directions

We are located in the Lake Katherine Village shopping center on Hwy 302. To get here from Hwy 16 take the Purdy-Keycenter exit. If you are going north, turn left onto Hwy 302 at the light. If you are going south, turn right onto Hwy 302. You’ll go over the Purdy Spit bridge. From there we’re about 2 1/2 miles up the hill. You’ll see the Lake Kathryn Village shopping center on your left. Turn into the shopping center, and we’re at the far end of the mall.

Minter Veterinary Hospital has been serving the Gig Harbor and South Kitsap area for over 16 years. We strive to provide the highest quality veterinary care to our patients. Jeffrey W. Irwin

Veterinarian and Owner

Dr. Irwin is a graduate of Washington State University and has been practicing since June 1983. In 1986 he bought Minter Veterinary Hospital from a retiring veterinarian. Dr. Irwin’s professional interests lie in preventive medicine and small animal surgery. Away from the clinic he enjoys spending time with his three kids, diving, karate and guitar.

Kathy

Hospital Manager

A life long pet lover, Kathy assists Dr. Irwin on the business end of the practice. She strives to make the clinic run as a successful business. Kathy started working at Minter Veterinary Hospital in 1993. She and her husband are active in the world of English Springer Spaniels, training their dogs for bird hunting and the obedience ring at dog shows. Kathy enjoys time with her family, camping, gardening, cooking and dog training.

Karen

Front Office Coordinator

Karen has been a receptionist for Minter Vet since 1995. In person, or on the phone, she can help you arrange a full range of services. Karen was born and raised in the area. She and her husband are the “parents” of 2 dogs, and 4 cats. She really enjoys working in the veterinary field and looks forward to coming to work every day.

Nicholle

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Nicholle has been in the veterinary business since 1997 and has loved every moment of it. She graduated as a licensed veterinary technician in 2004. Nicholle was raised in the area and is the proud 'momma' of two cats. Since 1999, she has done vacation pet sitting which involves walking, feeding, medicating and all around loving animals who are home alone. She enjoys spending time with family and boating with friends.

Suzy

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Suzy is a natural born animal person. Her knowledge and experience in the veterinary field make her a valuable asset to our team. Suzy has been a licensed veterinary technician since 1992, and has worked with animals, including zoos, animal rehab centers since 1989. She has a special love for cats, and she and her husband are the proud owners of 7 cats and 2 African Gray parrots. She enjoys bicycling, bird watching, gardening and enjoying the great outdoors.
