Established in 1992, Omaha Animal Medical Group, its' doctors and staff pledge to provide an exceptional experience for each client and pet by setting and accepting only superior standards for our actions and procedures.

Staff Members

Nikki

Office Manager

Nikki has been with Omaha Animal Medical Group for over 10 years now. She is one of our technicians, as well as the manager of the hospital. She is the proud "mamma" of five Boston Terriers ( T.J., Alexis, Nathan, Dakota and Lacey Lou). In her spare time, she shows her dogs in conformation and obedience. TJ is a retired AKC confirmation champion. Nikki is also the owner of a yellow crowned Amazon parrot named Clancy, as well as two cockatiels. In August 2008, Nikki will be getting married and beginning a new life as a wife and step-mother.

Paulette

Groomer

Paulette has been at OAMG for over 14 years as our "Pet Stylist", with over twenty years experience in the profession. She breeds and shows champion English Pointers and Rhodesian Ridgebacks, and has been involved in competitive obedience training. Paulette is a dedicated mother of two daughters, one of which now holds a Masters degree, and a son. She is also a grandma to two adorable boys.

Christy

Pet Care Counselor

Christy has been withour team at OAMG for 6 years. She is a huge animal lover. She truly enjoys being around and taking care of animals; hers and yours. She also enjoys oil painting, writing songs and life in general. Christy's family will be expanding in 2009 when she gets married and starts her new journey as a stepmother to three beautiful girls.

Rod Van Horn DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Van Horn received his undergraduate degree from Northern Arizona University, upon which he attended Oregon State University. He graduated from OSU in 1988 with his Doctorate of Veterinary medicine. He practiced in Arizona for 4 years and then moved to Omaha to establish Omaha Animal Medical Group in the spring of 1992. He is a member of the AVMA, NAVMA, and AAHA. He has a special interest in dental procedures, as well as enjoys surgery. He and his wife Toni, a dental hygienist, have two children Dustin, and Dominique and two dogs, Chip and Snuggles. In his spare time he is very active with Boys Scouts of America. He enjoys a multitude of outdoor activities including camping and hiking.

Tammy

Veterinary Technician

Tammy works part-time as a certified technician. She graduated from Omaha College of Health Careers. She is married and has two Malteses, Stewie and Mannie. Tammy also teaches veterinary technology at Vatterott College.

Marla

Veterinary Assistant

Marla has been with the hospital for over two years now. She comes to us from south Texas, and is the proud mother of two children, Kristen and Robert. She also owns a "new baby"... one of Nikki's Boston Terriers named Victor.

Sara

Veterinary Technician

Sara graduated from tech school and is one of our licensed technicians. She has been with us for about two years now. Sara has many animals of her own, including two pomeranians.

Liz

Kennel Attendant

Liz has become a vital part of our team in the recent year. She has always helped our boarding patients have the best stay possible while their owners are out of town. Recently, Liz has been being utilized as a technician assistant. She helps the technicians care for our patients that are visiting or hospitalized. Liz is the proud owner of a beagle named Liam, and she just added another beagle named Lucy to her home. Lucy was obtained through Hearts United For Animals.

Evan

Kennel Attandant

Evan just began his journey with our team. He is a great, compassionate, caring animal caretaker. He has one of Nikki's Boston Terriers named Jacob.
