We allow pets to be dropped off as early as 7:30 am M-F. We can also treat your pet if it is staying with us for grooming. Veterinary appointments are scheduled 8-6 M-F and 8-12 on Saturdays.

Ridgeview Animal Hospital, located at 180th and West Center Road, is here to serve you and your pets!!
We offer full veterinary services for your pets. Our goal is to prevent medical problems before they start. Your pet's comfort and happiness is our priority. You will love the time spent with you and your pet and the compassionate care from reception, technician, and veterinarian. We offer health plans as well as pet insurance. We WILL exceed your expectations. We have three veterinarians on staff so we can offer more hours and at least two opinions at any time on advanced medical or surgical cases!
Our technicians are all licensed veterinary technicians. They were trained to monitor anesthesia, perform lab work, and many other procedures. We are proud of their expertise.
RIDGEVIEW SERVICES INCLUDE:
VACCINATIONS - All pets are thoroughly examined and vaccinated in your presence. We want you to be comfortable with the treatment and care. While you wait heartworm test.
DENTAL PROPHYLAXIS - We have a state-of-the-art ultrasonic cleaner with high and low speed cleaning and polishing. Tooth extraction is also available.
PUPPY AND KITTEN WELLNESS - We love puppies and kittens! The new pet exam is complimentary and we will counsel you on general puppy and kitten topics.
GERIATRIC WELLNESS - Your older pet is important to us! We want to help your pet age gracefully and comfortably.
SURGICAL - Elective surgeries such as spay, neuter, and declaws (laser or blade), as well as bladder stone removal, tumor biopsies and removal, hernia repair, and more...
WE NOW OFFER LASER SURGERY AS WELL!!
MEDICAL - In-house bloodwork, lab, pharmacy, and x-ray. Blood transfusions, allergy testing, culture and sensitivities, and pathology are all options here also. Medical diagnosing and treatment.
ULTRASOUND - We now offer ultrasound screening for diagnostics!
BEHAVIOR - Counseling and medications
NUTRITION - Counseling and prescription diets. Conveniently, we are located next door to a pet store, so non-prescription foods can be picked up while you are visiting the vet!

Dr. Joanne Gaines
|

Veterinarian
|
|
Dr. Gaines is a Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine graduate. She has been practicing in the Omaha area since 1999 and opened Ridgeview in 2001. Her primary days are Monday - Thursday and every other Saturday. She is a member of AAHA, NAVM and AVMA. Her vision is to exceed your expectations. Your pet will receive the highest quality of medicine, anesthesia, surgery, and care. It is important to her that you are comfortable with how we treat you and your pets. You are welcome to be present for treatment, exam, vaccinations, blood draws, etc. We are proud of our facility and would be pleased to give a tour behind-the-scenes! Please stop by and meet Dr. Gaines and tour our hospital!
Dr. Gaines and her husband, Adam, have a son, Jack; a daughter, Vivien. They currently have three foster children named Eddie, Kiley, and Jay. They also have a dog; Tinkerbell; 2 cats, Scarlett and Melly; and 2 hermit crabs.

Shannon is a licensed veterinary technician and has been with us since 2001. Her technical skills are incredible! She is knowledgable and friendly. Dr. Gaines and Shannon worked together prior to opening Ridgeview. Shannon is married to Bryan. They have two dogs, Emma and Stella. They had their first child, Gavin, in December 2005. Their second child, Malik, was born in November 2006.

Lacee is an experienced licensed veterinary technician. She graduated from Veterinary Technician school in 2002. She mainly works with Dr. Jones. We are thrilled to have her on our team! Lacee has 2 cats and 2 chinchillas.

Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant

Charlene has been with us since 2003. She mainly works at the front desk, but is skilled throughout the clinic. You will find it a pleasure to speak with her on the phone. She also helps make your pet feel comfortable while staying with us! She and her husband have 2 children and several pets.

Dr. Knope is a full-time associate veterinarian. She loves medicine and surgery and enjoys pets of all ages! She is off on Mondays. She is very enthusiastic . Dr. Knope has interests in senior pet care, surgery, and exotics. She will help you with early diagnosis and prevention of diseases in your older pets. She is very skilled in surgery. She has a love for veterinary medicine.

Krystal has been on our staff since July 2007 and received her license from Vatterott College. She works mainly with Dr. Knope and enjoys working with clients and patients. Krystal especially loves puppies and has 2 cats of her own, Zee and Chutney.

Brooke started at Ridgeview in January of 2008. While this is her first experience in the veterinary field, she is skilled in client care and is one of the smiling faces greeting you at the front desk. Brooke has a daughter Lexi.

Genell originally joined our team in August of 2006, but left to help a neighbor. She couldn't stay away and came back in April 2008. Genell has previous veterinary experience in Wisconsin and has 5 dogs and 2 cats.

A graduate of Vatterott College, Lori started in March 2008 and loves being a technician at Ridgeview! Her love of animals led her to switch careers from hairstyling. Lori has 4 children, 2 dogs and 2 cats.

Diply came to live with us in September 2007. His main responsibility is cuddling with staff members on their lunch breaks. He also entertains us daily!
