Dr. Swango has practiced in Polk County Florida since 1974. He started working in his first veterinary hospital when he was 13 years old and still loves to study medicine and surgery and come to work each day. He has had the privilege to treat dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and in the past most Zoo animals (Hippos, Camels, Kangaroos, Gators and Primates) but today mainly dogs, cats and birds.


Dr. Swango appreciates the fine dedicated team he has working with him.

Keahau

Veterinary Technician

Keahau has been with our team since May of 2000. She has a great deal of experience with hospitalized patient care. She assists Dr. Swango and Tammy with appointments and when needed for surgeries. She makes sure that the clients have what they need and want to take the best care of their families pet(s).

Tina

Veterinary Assistant

Tina has been with us since July 2002. She has two years past experience at a small animal practice in Fort Lauderdale. Tina floats around the hospital assisting everyone with appointments, in house treatments, surgery and can run blood chemistries. She's always willing to help,has a warm personality and is always wearing a smile. She also makes sure every prescription food is there for the pets.

Eddie

Maintenance and Hospital Caretaker

Eddie started working with Dr. Swango in June 1982. He has what we call Senior Seniority. Eddie makes Swango Animal Hospital run smoothly and he is appreciated by every employee and especially the boss.

Tammy

Receptionist

Tammy joined our team in Jan. 2005.
She has had experienc with another animal hopital for 15 years beofre joining with this team.She is eager to help our clients. She also schedules our appts. and making sure the phones are answered promptly.

Christie

Veterinary Assistant

Christie has been a vet tech for 11 years and has been Dr. Swango's right hand since August 1998. She treats pets and their caretaking as if they were in her own family. Her experience is invaluable.

Tashell

Veterinary Assistant

Tashell joined Swango Animal Hospital in June 2006. She cares about every pet and client with great enthusiasm. She makes she that the kennel pets are taking care of as if they were at home. Their well-being too.
