Veterinarian

Dr. Howard is the founder and owner of Tatum Point Animal Hospital: the "Point" of Tatum Point, we like to say. He opened Tatum Point in October 1993 after working at several other hospitals in the Valley, including the Emergency Animal Clinic.
Dr. Howard came to veterinary medicine with a diverse educational background. He earned a BA in Anthropology from Ohio State University, a Master's Degree in Primate Behavior from Arizona State University, and his DVM, in 1986, from Colorado State University.
Wanting to give something back to the profession that has given him so much, Dr. Howard is very active in professional veterinary organizations. As the 1998 President of the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association, he led the state's premier veterinary organization. Past positions held within the AzVMA include Vice President, Board Member and Chairman of the Arizona Academy of Veterinary Practice. Dr. Howard's professional interests include canine reproduction, PennHIP radiology, avian and exotic medicine and raptor rehabilitation. In his free time, Dr. Howard's family comes first. Wife Dina, a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, and children Matthew and Alexa share their home with two Golden Retrievers, Ace and Zach; and tabby cat Snaggletooth. Outdoor activities, especially fishing, boating and hiking (particularly the Grand Canyon), and a love of basketball fill up the rest of his time.

Veterinarian

After interviewing at a number of veterinary hospitals, Dr. Robbins decided to join Tatum Point because "Dr. Howard is a great mentor, the staff is enthusiastic and helpful, the medicine practiced is state-of-the-art, and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed... it's a fun place!"
A native Arizonan, Dr. Robbins graduated from Saguaro High School and received a degree in Zoology from Northern Arizona University. She earned her DVM degree from Colorado State University in 2001. Her special areas of interest include ophthalmology and dermatology.
Husband Scott is an information technology consultant. They share their home with Labrador Retriever Baskin (get it? Baskin Robbins!), and enjoy spending time doing outdoor activities such as rock climbing and hiking.

Joanne Prellberg

|
Practice Manager
|
|
Practice Manager Joanne has been at Tatum Point Animal Hospital since 1994. Joanne has been showing and breeding dogs for over 20 years, and currently owns three Bernese Mountain Dogs. She is always available to advise on selecting a breed, finding a reputable breeder, and to assist with any training questions you may have. Joanne grew up in suburban Kansas City and attended Northern Arizona University before graduating from Boston University. She received a law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City before settling down in Arizona. The law degree comes in handy for running the business side! Joanne was named the "Veterinary Office Manager of the Year" by the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association in 1999.
