We are located on the southeast corner of Main St. and Mountain View in Longmont, CO. Our entrance is from Mountain View just east of the corner.

Longmont is northeast of Boulder on Highway 287.

Staff Members

Ronald Mannis

Veterinarian/Owner

Dr. Mannis graduated from CSU Vet School in 1968. He started at The Animal Hospital in 1973. He grew up near Hugo, CO. He and his wife Sherryl have a daughter who lives and works in Minn with her husband. He also has a son, who with his new wife, live and work locally. Dr Ron has 4 dogs, 2 horses and several cats, and enjoys outdoor sports like hunting, fishing and hiking.

Donald Dreyer

Veterinarian/Owner

Dr. Dreyer graduated from CSU Vet School in 1969. He started at The Animal Hospital in 1971. He grew up in Nebraska and still has a farm there. He moved to CO in 1965. He and his wife Myra have one son who teaches school in Manning, Iowa and another son who attends college at Univ. of Nebraska. Dr Don has 2 dogs and several birds and enjoys chamber music and belongs to his church choir.

Lynn Ferguson

Veterinarian/Owner

Dr Ferguson graduated from CSU Vet School in 1978. He started at The Animal Hospital in 1978. He was raised in Colorado and has stayed close to home. Although he loves dogs, he now has one cat who shares his home. Dr. Lynn's recent hobby has been learning to fly air planes and also restoring a rustic cabin in Wyoming as well as winter sking.

Renee Nankervis

Veterinarian

Dr Nankervis graduated from CSU Vet School in 1992. She started at The Animal Hospital in 1996. She was raised in California and moved to Colorado in 1982. She and her husband Jim have one 2yr old son and another child on the way. Dr. Renee enjoys riding and showing her 4 horses and also has 1 dog and 2 cats.

Barbara (Babs) Riley

Office Manager/Bookkeeper

Babs started at The Animal Hospital in 1977. She moved to Colorado from Conneticut in l969. She and her husband Michael have one son who lives and works in Oklahoma with his wife. Her other son, a recent graduate in prostethics, is beginning his career. Babs and her husband enjoy traveling to new places and to visit family.

Lori Wales

Veterinary Technician

Lori is a certified Veterinary Technichian and graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 1984. She started at The Animal Hospital in 1985. She grew up in Kansas and Montana, moving to Colorado in 1977. Her family now lives in Nebraska and Kansas, where she often goes to visit. Lori has 1 cat and 1 horse and enjoys horse activities as well as spending time at her computer.

Phyllis Kniep

Veterinary Technician

Phyllis graduated in 1987 from Front Range Community College with a degree in Lab Animal Science, and started at The Animal Hospital in 1991. She grew up in Minn and has lived several places now calling Colorado home. She has a daughter in High School. After buying their first house, Phyllis and her family immediately got a dog to add to their family which also includes 2 birds. Phyllis enjoys weight training as well as other aerobic exercise.

Shannen Fogarty

Veterinary Technician

Shannen graduated in 1994 from UNO in Maine with a degree in biology. She started at The Animal Hospital in 1999. She has lived in many interesting places including Alaska. Shannen and David have 4 dogs and 2 cats and she enjoys hiking, sailing, is a certified ski instructor and a certified groomer.

Jennifer McNeil

Receptionist

Jennifer just recently moved to Colorado from Florida. She started at The Animal Hospital in 1999. She worked in her teens at veterinary hospitals and started here in kennel maintenance and now works as a receptionist. Jennifer and her husband Dylan have 2 cats and she enjoys dancing and dabbles in astrology.

Julie Kunkel

Kennel Maintenance

Julie started at The Animal Hospital in 1995. Her love of animals carries forward to her other job at The Longmont Humane Society. Julie has 4 dogs, 6 cats and birds. She and her husband Tom have built their own log cabin and she enjoys sewing and doing craft work in her spare time.

Mary Martin

Kennel Maintenance

Mary started at The Animal Hospital in 1999. Helping to take care of our patients comes easy to Mary since she is also a registered nurse. She has 6 cats, 2 dogs and is interested in breeding German Shepards. Mary also enjoys photography.

Bob Lamb

General Maintenance

Bob has worked at The Animal Hospital as our life saver, for many years now. He is retired from the Public Service Co but keeps very busy with building and grounds maintenance here as well as at his own home. His wife Toby (our recently retired bookkeeper) and he have 1 dog as well as two grown daughters and a grown son with children of their own. They keep busy with their home and family and enjoy traveling.
