Description

We provide veterinary health care services for pet animals, including examinations, dental care, vaccinations, parasite control, surgery, and medical treatments, and more. We have a small retail shop upstairs featuring healthy diets, grooming supplies, healthy treats and toys. We are strong supporters of our local humane society and participate in their programs. We have one doctor, and 5 staff members.


Services

Primary veterinary care, including examination, vaccination, parasite control, diagnostic testing, routine screening, skin care, preventive care, pediatric care, senior pet care, spay/neuter surgery, medical and surgical treatments, dental care, radiology, and hospitalization.

Retail canine and feline diets, prescription diet, healthy treats, collars and leads, grooming supplies, and toys.

Staff Members

Dr. J. L. Oelschlager

veterinarian

Dr. Oelschlager is a 1995 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, 1991 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Agriculture. She also attended the University of Findlay and WV Northern Community College.

S. Gilles

veterinary technicinan/nurse

Ms. Gilles is an expert at calming and caring for animals. She cares for patients, runs diagnostic tests, and assists the veterinarian in multiple tasks including examinations, surgery, and radiology, instrument preparation, and anesthesia.

P. Hargleroad

receptionist/veterinary assistant

Ms. Hargleroad keeps the office organized. She manages the appointment schedule, patient files, and telephone. She assists the veterinarian during examinations and procedures, dispenses medications, and manages the inventory. Ms. Hargleroad manages the retail area and has many other responsibilities at The Family Pet Practice.

P. Johnson

veterinary technician

Ms. Johnson assists the veterinarian with surgery and anesthesia. She has many duties, including record-keeping, screening tests, monitoring patients, preparing the surgery and instrument care.
Ms. Johnson makes a very important contribution to the humane society by volunteering her assistance with medical and surgical care for animals from the shelter.

J. Carmosino

veterinary assistant

Ms. Carmosino is a dental hygeinist who assists the veterinarian with dental procedures and surgeries. Ms. Carmosino assists with many different tasks, including recovery monitoring, surgical preparation, and anesthesia.

C. Meredith

veterianary assistant

Ms. Meredith is a dental hygeinist who assists the veterinarian with many duties including instrument preparation, patient care, animal restraint, hospital maintenance, and general help wherever needed.
