Description
|
Westwood Hospital for Animals, Inc. is a privately owned veterinary hospital located in Brownsburg, Indiana. Unlike human hospitals, all of the equipment and the building is owned and maintained by the veterinarians who work in it.
The practice was opened in September 1977 at 725 North Green Street. After several remodeling projects at that location, this current building was completed in the fall of 1990.
Our purpose is to give the best quality care to the companion animals of our west suburban clientele. We strive to give you, our clients, courteous and conscientious treatment while giving your pets the best and most humane care that our training and education can provide.
If you are new to our practice we welcome you and hope that our association with you will be a long and happy one. To those of you who have been a part of our history for any length of time, it is with gratitude that we welcome you to our future and the many exciting aspects of veterinary medicine that we will have to offer. For it is only with the tremendous support of this community since 1977 that we are able to offer professional services in a setting that is the state of the art of Veterinary Hospitals.

Routine Examinations, Vaccinations, Dentistry, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Euthanasia, Pet Cremation, Nutritional Counseling, Microchipping (Microchipping), Radiology, Pharmacy and Laboratory services, Geriatric Medicine
After hour Emergency Services are referred to Airport Animal Emergi-center. They are open 6:00 pm to 8:00 am Monday-Friday, and 12:00 pm Saturday to 8:00 am Monday. Dr. Steele and Dr. Dawson are on the board of directors and also have ownership in the center.

Dr. Steele graduated from Purdue University in 1975, and opened Westwood Hospital for Animals in 1977. He is the primary owner. He lives at home with his wife, Jean, and 3 sons. He is very active with his church and his son's baseball teams.

Dr. Fifer graduated from Purdue University in 1987. He is part owner of Westwood. He lives at home with his wife, Sarah, son David, daughter Rebecca, and 1 cat. His hobbies include bird watching and Geneology.

Dr. Marcia Dawson

|
Dr. Dawson graduated from Purdue University in 1995 and began working at Westwood that same year. She lives at home with her husband Doug. She has 2 grown children, and a new grandson. She breeds Scotties and has 2 cats.

Formerly a client, Debbie joined Westwood in 1992. She lives at home with her husband, Larry and 4 Golden Retrievers. She also breeds Golden Retrievers and has 2 champions.

Sandi joined Westwood in June 2000. She lives at home with her husband, Dave and 7 Golden Retrievers. Together they co-founded GRRACE (Golden Retriever Rescue and Community Education.) They are no longer members of the board, but are still quite active with the organization.

Formerly a client, Megen joined Westwood in July 2000. She lives at home with her husband, John, and 2 Boxers, "Tyson" and "Mya." She is the clinic's "Boxer Lover."

Dave joined Westwood in September 2000 after retiring from 34 years of teaching art to high school students. He lives at home with his wife, Carol. He has 2 daughters and 2 grandaughters. He is the first person to greet every client that walks through the door.

Elizabeth first encountered Westwood through a work-study program through her high school. She has continued to work hear and learn procedures that will help her with her studies in the Veterinary Technology program that she will be applying for in the fall.

Jamie joined Westwood in July, 2001. She graduated from Purdue's Veterinary Technician program in December 1998. She then worked at a mixed animal practice in Valparaiso. She lives at home with her husband, Dave, 2 cats, "Moe" and "Tigger", and hedgehog, "Emery".

Amy joined Westwood in Feb. 2001. She graduated from Purdue Universitie's Veterinary Technician Program in December 1999 with her Associates Degree. She then pursued her Bachelor's Degree in hospital administration. She finished school in December 2000. She lives at home with her fiance Terry.

Cheri joined Westwood in the summer of 2000 when she completed her externship for Purdue Universitie's Veterinary Technician Program. She graduated with her Associates Degree that December. She is in the process of completing her Bachelor's Degree in hospital administration.

Dr. Busch has been in companion animal practice for 2 1/2 years. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She has special interests in surgery, dermatology, and taking care of the senior pet. She lives at home with her husband, Scott, 3 dogs, and 1 cat.
