Philippe R. Coudrai, M.S., V.M.D. received a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1980, and a Master of Science in Biology in 1984 from the University of Hartford, and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1989 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He has 9 years of experience in emergency medicine for small animals, and has a professional interest in orthopedic surgery, for which he attends continuing education regularly. Since 1996, he has operated a referral orthopedic surgical service for the southern New Jersey area and performs over 150 orthopedic surgical procedures annually for over 30 area veterinary hospitals as an economical alternative to board-certified specialists in Pennsylvania. Dr. Coudrai has also volunteered his services as the Veterinary Co-coordinator for the Camden County Office of Emergency Management since 1996. He is a member of the SNJVMA, NJVMA, AVMA, Eastern Veterinary Orthopedic Society, and has passed licensing examinations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida.
Paul Tamas, D.V.M.
Dr. Paul Tamas earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Veterinary Medicine, in Budapest, Hungary in 1972. He came to the United States in 1976, and worked for the Wisconsin Humane Society for 4 years. He completed an internship in small animal medicine in 1981 at Washington State University, and completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Tennessee in 1984. From 1984-1986, Dr. Tamas was an Assistant Professor in Anesthesiology at the University of Missouri. Besides Anesthesiology, Dr. Tamas interests have included treating medical, surgical and dental conditions affecting wildlife species as well as performing anesthetic and dental procedures on primates, reptiles and amphibians. Dr. Tamas owned the Village Veterinary Clinic in Tennessee for 12 years, prior to moving to New Jersey. His professional memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Veterinary Clinicians, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Veterinary Dental Association, the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association, the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, and the Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians.
During his spare time, Dr. Tamas has volunteered his past five (5) summers teaching rowing for the Philadelphia Rowing Program for the Disabled and his past five (5) winters teaching skiing for the Pennsylvania Center for Adapted Sports. He also shares his home with his 17-year old, longhaired Miniature Dachshund, Zsu Zsa, and his 1-year old Giant Schnauzer, Sherman.
